As you know from Iris’ CVS birthday party, we LOVE a good theme. So when Iris (who still loves CVS, but is now way into Stranger Things) turned ELEVEN, we had only one choice. I made a fun little Reel to recap the party & have a ton of photos following. Now, the count down to season five (and age 12) is on! Spring Break at the The Crescent Hotel

Special thanks to The Crescent Hotel for hosting our stay! While our experience was sponsored, all opinions are my own. I love Eureka Springs with all my heart, but somehow I had never stayed at the 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa – until now! Iris and I recently snuck away for a couple nights during her school’s spring break. We’re not typically spring break travelers, but Eureka Springs is a location that’s easy, unique, and doesn’t break the bank. Only an hour from Fayetteville, we drove the winding roads up the hills to the tip top of the town to the historic Crescent Hotel. The history and c ..read more

Mother Daughter NYC Trip

New York City is one of my most favorite places on earth, so for years I’ve dreamed about taking Iris. Although we certainly could have gone earlier, I waited until she was almost 10 because I wanted her to be old enough to 1) appreciate it and 2) be able to keep up with all the walking. And I must say, this was the most perfect time to introduce her to the city. She was old enough to learn and and understand about the places we visited, but still young enough to want to play at every playground we passed. I feel that we went during this magical window of her life where she was as amazed with ..read more

Backyard Moments with Ball Bark Buns & Takis!

This blog post is sponsored, but all opinions are my own. Whenever the weather is nice, you’ll find us in our backyard, soaking up the sun and creating memories as a family. Grilling often comes hand in hand with that – delicious shared moments between family or friends, celebrating the simple joys of the day. While we have grilled up a storm this summer, we’re not ready to wind down any time soon so we are getting creative with our menu. Using the very best Ball Park buns, we’ve added a fun twist to our grilled classics. Available at Walmart, I sprinkled crumbles of Takis Fuego as a topping ..read more

Packing Tips for Overnight Camp

So this year Iris is going to her first-ever sleep away camp! While every camp has their own packing list that you’ll want to adhere to, I wanted to gather all the tips from seasoned pros to make sure Iris has the best possible time. One particular recommendation that I’m trying to keep in mind is, pack less than what you think they’ll need. Let me say that again, so that maybe it will sink into my over-planning, over-prepared brain. Pack less than what you think they’ll need. Okay, I think I’ve got it. Along these lines, another bit of insight that stuck with me is, don’t fret when you see p ..read more

TRAVEL BLOG: 21c Kansas City

This post is in partnership with 21c Kansas City. All opinions are my own. Oh, how good it feels to be traveling again! We were lucky enough to be invited by 21c Museum Hotels to visit one of their newer properties, the 21c Kansas City. Only a short three and a half hour drive from Fayetteville, we hit the road on a Friday afternoon for a two-night getaway. If you’ve never stayed at a 21c property, there are quite a few things that set them apart. Most notably, there’s an art museum in every hotel which makes it as much of a destination, as a place to stay. Iris, however, would say that it’s ..read more

Fave Girls Swimsuits for Summer 2021
Sarah Fortune

It’s almost spring so that means one thing for me – time to start watching the kid swimsuit lines roll out! Nothing gets me more excited for summer than seeing fresh, adorable suits pop up in my Intstgram feed. Growing up I always had one swimsuit and wore that one until it didn’t fit any more. I’ve subconsciously decided to take a different approach with Iris because, well, frankly I just can’t help it. The suits these days are too cute and the summer is too hot, so we’re in water any chance we get. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but Iris has a whole dresser drawer dedicated just to swimsui ..read more

NEW YEAR, NEW SIDE HUSTLE!

I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined Flyer Homes as their newest real estate agent. While I’m beyond grateful for my day job (I’ve been there for 12 years and am still going strong!), I’ve always had the need to fill my free time in an entrepreneurial and creative way. In my 20s it was selling vintage clothes on eBay. In my 30s it was living the influencer life on the ‘gram. But as I inched towards 40, my next goal became clear – I wanted to be a licensed real estate agent. I’ve always had a passion (okay, obsession is more like it) for looking at houses and of course Todd is co-owner of ..read more

EDY’S® MELTING SNOWMAN FROSTED COOKIES

This post is sponsored by Froneri/Nestlé but all opinions are my own. I’m not sure what it is, but I always crave ice cream in the wintertime and this year is no different! In fact, this holiday season I’m getting creative with ice cream by making my scoops a little more festive. EDY’S®/Dreyer’s has several ice cream recipes that look as fun as they are delicious, so Iris and I decided to try our hand at the EDY’S® Melting Snowman Frosted Cookies. We live in the south so our ice cream name is EDY’S®, but for those of you who live west of the Rockies, you would know this ice cream brand as Dre ..read more
