I’m very excited to share Maria and Dean’s Cleveland Dam elopement on the blog today! This duo met several years ago while traveling in Austrialia. They’re both living in the UK and Maria is originally from Finland. With the two of them loving travel, Maria loving forests and Dean loving mountains, Cleveland Dam in North Vancouver spoke to them. And they made it official with us as their witnesses, yay! When the day of the wedding arrived, the forecast called for rain, but mother nature changed her mind. We were treated to a gorgeous day! For the ceremony, Jelger and I had scouted a more hidde ..read more

We met Caroline and Tom for their forest engagement photos in one of North Vancouver’s most sought after parks: Lynn Canyon. It was a beautiful warm summer day and nature was truly showing off. The park had been partially closed for a long time, first due to Covid and later because of renewing the suspension bridge. So it was great to see everything back to normal! The suspension bridge certainly looked renewed. (That’s probably important with over a million yearly visitors, lol) Caroline and Tom are a playful duo with a very active lifestyle. They met each other through parcours. And no, thos ..read more

Last summer, Jelger and I witnessed and photographed the Vancouver forest elopement of Angela and Tanner. The two of them said their I do’s on their 10 year dating anniversary! They’ve clearly already proven they can do life together after ten years, hehe. But I love that they chose to make it official too! Stanley Park was be an excellent choice for them, because of their love for nature and the forest. And of course it’s conveniently close to the city when you’re visiting. The pandemic threw them a curveball, as it did with so many couples. But this duo also had to rearrange their honeymoon ..read more

We joined Negin and Saied in Golden Ears Park for their 10 year wedding anniversary photos. I loved that Jelger and I also celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this year. We could definitely relate to the festive feelings, hehe. Yay for 2011 wedding couples! And of course we think taking couple photos is an awesome way to have fun and create memories to look back at in another 10 years. Before starting our photo session, we enjoyed hanging out together and enjoying the beautiful august weather. We also got to know them a bit better and learned how they moved here. It’s no small feat to m ..read more

Bri and Julien’s intimate wedding in Squamish took place on a hot summer day. The two of them traveled to BC from New Brunswick for their elopement. Bri used to live in Victoria and her best friend currently lives in Vancouver, so BC worked out perfectly for them! And since the two of them love camping and adventuring together, of course they appreciate the local epic nature. On the day of their wedding, we met up at the parking lot, separately, for their first look! And I should add they trusted us with the location, as they’d never visited this particular spot before. Extra adventurous, heh ..read more

Last summer, we photographed Julie and Justin’s City Hall wedding in Vancouver! Despite photographing weddings in Vancouver for all these years, this was our first time in City Hall! Julie, who speaks French as her birth language, chose officiant Beth, from Young, Hip and Married because she’s bilingual too. That way the French in the ceremony was real French (and not “sure, I can speak some French French”). Julie and Justin spoke their vows, accompanied by their daughter Lou. Adorable! And at the end of the ceremony, they rang the bell to make sure everyone in the building knew someone tied ..read more

Mellisa and Peter’s Cheekye Ranch wedding was the first wedding we photographed with a large wedding party since the beginning of the pandemic! Jelger and I loved experiencing a big outdoor celebration again. Just like in the good old days! And these two had to make and change so many plans, it’s fantastic that they ended up in Squamish and got to celebrate the entire weekend! One of the great benefits of getting married at Cheekye Ranch is that your guests can camp there and that you can have a fun night the day before as well! Melissa told us she loves backpacking and camping, while Peter i ..read more

The entire wedding of Setareh and Eliar in Hart House Restaurant was fully planned and executed in 2 weeks! The two of them went through numerous changes of dates, formats and locations for their wedding. Thanks Covid! And when they almost settled on an indoor location, the news came in that allowed dancing in outdoor settings! So with only 2 weeks to spare, they decided to move to Hart House! I love that they did it, because it was such a fun party! I should add that these two not only moved their wedding, they themselves moved to Vancouver from the East Coast during the pandemic! AND they he ..read more

On a beautiful summer day, we joined Sam and Mike for their elopement in Squamish. Summer day, but there’s snow in the photos?! Yes, if you go up high enough, there’s snow all year round! And that’s exactly what these two did! They planned an epic helicopter elopement and a fun day in Squamish! It was their first time visiting BC and they both looked forward to time off and honeymooning! Mike told us his parents used to go to Whistler for skiing and he heard a lot of stories. I’m very excited they experienced Whistler and so much more during their visit! The morning of their wedding started o ..read more

We first talked with Marlise and Dustin about their wedding in Manning Park at a time where a lot of things were still uncertain. They knew they’d get married, regardless of what happened in the world. But their dream scenario included about 20 guests to share their experience with. The restrictions lifted on time for them, so they could invite their family and closest loved ones! Their day started with a ceremony at Lightning Lake. Despite the hot summer sun, a cool breeze kept everyone comfortable. Seeing Marlise walking down the aisle with her dad and Dustin seeing her for the first time we ..read more
