I love asking people interesting questions to get to know them. One of my favorites is, “Where’s your ‘happy place’?”   If you were to ask me that question, I’d give what is undoubtedly a very non-traditional answer.   I think most people would expect an answer like, “On a beach, with a drink in my hand.” Or, “Curled up in bed with a good book, on a rainy day.”   Those who know me well know that I’ve never been a “party girl” – I’m the person at every event who shows up and spends the whole evening in the corner, petting the dog. (What? I *really* love dogs)   So, “On a dan ..read more

Southern Oaks Wedding | New Orleans   Mannnnn, I’ve been excited to show off this wedding for a while, now! This will go down in my books as one of my favorite wedding days EVER. Amanda was an infectiously joyful bride–full of love and excitement all day long. Adam was such an effortlessly cool groom, and the two of them together did our city of NOLA justice, for sure. Their whole crew was just the right mix of fun and all kinds of emotional – which was right up my alley. Telling the story of a wedding day in a way that is real and authentic is so easy, when you have clients like this! Th ..read more

Natural Hospital Birth at Woman’s Baton Rouge   Man, I cannot even describe how proud of this mama I am! Gelisa contacted me about doula support for her birth with her first child, and then decided she’d also love to have birth photography. We had some great chats throughout her pregnancy about what she wanted her delivery to look like, and formulated her birth plan together. She was really determined to go as medication-free as possible, and we worked together to give us the very best chance of success! Her partner was so supportive and wonderful throughout Gelisa’s labor ..read more

New Orleans Birth Photography | Rylea Oh, man. I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this birth story with the world. I’ve been with this little family from their engagements, to Lea-Ann’s bridals, for her wedding to Ryan, and now for the birth of their first child. It’s always–ALWAYS–an honor for me to be present when a client’s baby is born. But this one was extra special! These guys have become like family to me! It was the most emotional experience, for everyone. I loved being there for the wild ride of Rylea’s birth, and witnessing all of the grandparents and family members fall in l ..read more

LSU Club at Union Square | Baton Rouge Wedding Photographer   Mannnn, what a wild ride it’s been, for Morgan and James! I feel like if there were awards given out for most-flexibility-in-wedding-planning skills, this fam would 100% take home gold. The pandemic meant not one, but TWO wedding date reschedules for them. Although they technically tied the knot in this sweet, intimate Christmas Eve elopement last year, they really wanted to be able to celebrate with all of their friends and family. So, this year they *brought the party*! WITH KILTS! If you know me, you know that I’m a huge fa ..read more

Wedding Photographer in Baton Rouge | Erica and Keith at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church   Well, this day was just perfect, from start to finish. Erica and Keith have been with me from the very beginning of their journey, so I of course couldn’t WAIT to be a part of this day. After Erica’s bridals, it was an absolute lock that she was going to look amazing on her wedding day. She did NOT disappoint, and neither did any of her crew! Everyone was so close, and full of so much love and fun the whole day long. Their son Bryson was absolutely the star of the show, too! He’s been giving me his ..read more

Hurricane Wedding in New Orleans | Andie, Jason and Ida   Man, what a memorable wedding day! Andie and Jason had been fighting for this day for a LONG time. COVID chaos and a bunch of other random, crazy difficulties in their blended lives meant that by the time they realized a hurricane was barreling down on Louisiana on their wedding day… well, it was kind of just par for the course. I tell all of my couples that wedding day chaos is not just to be expected – it is to be embraced. The things that go “wrong” are often the very things that make our day memorable, and unique. How bori ..read more

Race and Religious bridal photos | Andi in New Orleans   There are few locations more iconic when it comes to “that NOLA feeling” than Race and Religious! The exposed brick, eclectic decor, and old southern charm just scream “The Big Easy” at its finest. It’s one of my very favorite locations for bridal photos, as well as for weddings!   Andi looked absolutely stunning in her dress, dripping in lace and gorgeous beaded details. All of the climbing greenery, antique lanterns, and the beautiful courtyard at Race + Religious made for the perfect backdrop for bridal photos.   Now th ..read more

City Park Sunset Engagement Photos | David and Lauren   As iconic southern engagement photo sessions go…David and Lauren kinda set the bar, with this one! Even though it was a hot, humid evening here in New Orleans City Park for these engagement photos, these two knocked it out of the park. You’d never guess this was photographed deep in the month of August! BUT, that just goes to show that when you’re hella in love and in one of the most amazing cities in the world… you kinda can’t take a bad photo! Normally, when people want to photograph in City Park, I suggest an early morning time sl ..read more

I could NOT have been more excited to be a part of her whole journey, and photograph her wedding day. And now that the day has finally come, I can show off her amazing bridal photos at Rosedown.   Seriously – sitting on these and waiting to show them off has just about KILLED me, man!   ‘Cuz, let’s be real – it doesn’t get more perfect than this.
