It takes 68 minutes to play its five movements, nearly twice as long as it takes an orchestra to play Ludwig van Beethoven’s fifth symphony. At St. Joseph Healthcare, we’ve often witnessed the transformative nature of music. Jamie Eldridge was a 58-year-old man with Down syndrome who was suffering from advanced dementia. Near the end of his life, he experienced true joy after hearing a well-known melody he had always held dear.
