What fun this morning was! Ethan, Lauren and I discussed how we wanted their engagement photoshoot to feel. I knew I wanted to do a mix of medium format film & polaroid film for their session. This spring I took the Cooney’s family photos at their home in Louisville, Kentucky. We did a more candid-approach. I’ve done this “morning in the life” candid-style a few times now and can’t tell you how much it fuels me creatively. Occasionally, an artist will release an album that inspires me to do a themed photo shoot. While music has always been a big inspiration to me, it’s pretty rare that that I will have an album inspire me to do whole themed photo shoot. Countryside Kentucky Wedding with Film & Digital Photos Oh, this day is one I look back on with fond memories! Hannah and Neil are some of the kindest, dearest people. Ever get let in on a secret? It’s exciting and I get the excited jitters every time somebody reaches out to me about a proposal. Want to hear something funny? The first time I did a newborn photoshoot, I actually really disliked it and vowed I’d never do one again. The poor baby cried the whole time, I was trying so hard to get the “perfect” photos of the baby alone instead of naturally involving the parents. When Kate, a client turned friend, reached out to me with an idea to photograph a morning of her day, I was ecstatic to say the least. She’s a stay-at-home mom and wanted to have this busy season of life with her littles captured. These kinds of photos are the ones that mean more & more, the more time passes.
