Brandon & Lucas’s Laid-Back Wedding in Louisville
From the start, it was clear that Brandon and Lucas’s wedding at the Copper & Kings Distillery would be a warm, personal celebration filled with meaningful touches. As a couple who has lived all over the U.S. and until recently called Nairobi, Kenya home, Brandon and Lucas crafted a gathering that felt like a reunion, a chance to celebrate with both chosen and biological family in a city close to their hearts. Their day felt cozy yet elevated, fitting perfectly in the warmth of Copper & Kings in Louisville, KY.

Beyond an iron gate, just as the leaves began to change in autumn, Claire (she/her) and Luke (he/him) were married in a secluded corner of Whitehall’s Florentine gardens. Soft, dappled light filtered through the trees, casting a romantic glow as they exchanged their vows.
I really loved the thoughtful & sentimental touches Claire incorporated into the day. She delicately embroidered a handkerchief to honor her grandmother's legacy as a seamstress, making it her 'something blue.' Additionally, she carried a beautiful locket from the 1920s, a gift from her grandmother, as her 'something ..read more

Last June, amidst blooming oak-leaf hydrangeas and sprigs of verbena swaying on the breeze, Amanda (she/her) and Natalie (she/her) exchanged vows at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens. When asked about their vision, they described a wedding that was relaxed, fun, and true to who they are as a couple. When the day arrived, their celebration was full of joy, and focused on soaking up quality time with the folks who've been cheering them on throughout the years.
Amanda's creativity shines in everything she does, whether it's concocting new cookie recipes, making art projects with their children, or ar ..read more

Today I’m sharing a truly beautiful wedding I had the privilege of photographing this fall. Katie (she/her) and Ruben (he/him) curated a celebration that was elegant, artistic, and a whole lot of fun.
As a Louisville, Kentucky wedding photographer, I was beyond thrilled to capture the timeless beauty and romance of this day. The Speed Art Museum’s stunning architecture provided the most picturesque background, further enhancing the “classic meets modern” vibe. The play of light and shadow, the intricate details— everything was gorgeous.
Katie was radiant in her chic gown from Jenny Yoo and ..read more

As a wedding photographer, I’ve photographed ceremonies at well over one hundred different locations over the last decade. I’d be lying if I said I’ve seen it all, but I sure have seen a lot. During that time, a few venues have really stood out for being not just wonderful to photograph, but also providing an experience that my couples seem to love.

The Kentucky Castle had always been one of those mysterious places for me— you know the kind. I had driven by it countless times and rubbernecked at the towers trying to imagine what was inside. Is the interior historic or modern? Is it used for renaissance fairs, weddings, or is it some weird members-only club situation? Why is the driveway so long and why is it always locked? Are there tunnels underneath and if so where do they lead? Obviously, I never googled any of this because it would ruin the fun, but I was excited to finally get to see inside when photographing Shakia & Mitch’s we ..read more

From the moment they reached out I was so excited to work with Sydney and Rick. After 17 years together they wanted to get married, but their courthouse didn’t offer ceremonies and their backyard didn’t feel private enough. They weren’t sure where to start, “then your elopement planning guide popped into my search results and I felt calmer.” Sydney said. Together we researched some options for their day including Flat Lick Falls, Turkey Foot Park, and even a family farm. Ultimately they decided that renting a cabin at Red River Gorge was the best option for what they had in mind. They needed ..read more
