Welcome to my new weekly series of posts where I mention a bit of news related to Louisville’s music community. A new post with fresh new music will be posted every Friday morning, right here at Never Nervous. The name of the new weekly post — Damn Good Weekly — is admittedly pretty stupid. The name comes from an older guy I worked with years ago that dubbed rock ‘n roll mix tapes while constantly referring to them as his “damn good tapes.” I love that. Anyway, if you have a suggestion for next week’s Damn Good Weekly, send it here. ALBUM: Nmesh – Appearance Settings: Volume 02 (2016-2019) I ..read more

The B-side will feature a fantastic remix by electro glitch artist Introvertmusic. The song is about that specific feeling of cautious optimism, and the creeping anxiety that the good mood will evaporate at any millisecond. You sit still and wait for the other hea ..read more

The placenta has been severed — industrial synth rock band Virgin Birth have arrived with their first single. The track is called “Waiting On The Bad Time” and it serves as the precursor to the band’s debut record to be released early 2023 via Never Nervous Records. The song is about that specific feeling of cautious optimism, and the creeping anxiety that the good mood will evaporate at any millisecond. You sit still and wait for the other heavy shoe to drop while trying to be in the moment, waiting on the bad time. Recommended for fans of Nine Inch Nails, Big Black and KMFDM.
