As the list of Democrats in Congress calling for President Joe Biden to end his reelection bid grows, megadonors are joining efforts to urge the president to end his campaign. According to a New York Times report, Democratic donors told the largest pro-Biden super PAC, Future Forward, they would not produce $90 million unless the president were to drop out of the race. The Times cited two sources briefed on the conversations. President Biden has vowed to stay in the race as he continues to campaign weeks ahead of the upcoming Democratic National Convention. For the first time in 238 days, President Joe Biden faced the press corps for an unfiltered, nearly hour-long Q&A. He took questions from 10 reporters, including from Scripps News White House correspondent Haley Bull. The solo press conference marked the end of the NATO summit, celebrating 75 years of the critical alliance. But after a disappointing debate performance last month, President Biden needed a good performance Thursday night, and he repeatedly insisted that he's staying in the race. "I'm going to be going around making the case of things that I think we have to finish and how we ..read more

On Wednesday, Vermont Sen. Peter Welch became the first Democratic senator to publicly call for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. In an op-ed published in The Washington Post, Welch said too much was balanced on the outcome of November's election. He warned of an extreme agenda from Republicans. "The stakes could not be higher. We cannot unsee President Bidens disastrous debate performance. We cannot ignore or dismiss the valid questions raised since that night," Welch wrote. "For the good of the country, Im calling on President Biden to withdraw from the race ..read more

Border politics are a pivotal issue in the 2024 presidential campaign, and Texas is the epicenter. Texas' Republican Gov. Greg Abbott was an early endorser of former President Donald Trump for president in 2024. The Lone Star State has been a political thorn in the side of a White House controlled by a Democrat, mainly through its challenging of federal authority by launching scores of lawsuit and spending billions on a state border security program that frequently challenges federal primacy on the mandate of who controls the border and who controls the flow of immigration. In a New York Times op-ed published Wednesday, Clooney wrote of his love for the president in his position now, as the former vice president, a former senator and as his friend. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that "time is running short" for President Joe Biden to decide whether he is staying in the presidential race. Her comments come despite President Biden's insistence that he intends to stay in the race and is not contemplating dropping out. Pelosi stopped short of calling on President Biden to exit the presidential race, as several of her Democratic colleagues in the House have done. Pelosi told MSNBC, "As long as the president it's up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We are all encouraging him to make that decisi ..read more

After last month's rocky debate performance, more and more Democrats are raising concerns about President Joe Biden's age and mental fitness, so he's been hard at work trying to reassure members of his own party that he's the best candidate to beat former President Donald Trump in November. House Democrats gathered Tuesday morning for what some members called a "family conversation" and "listening session" about whether President Biden should step aside. With the party's convention more than a month away, some lawmakers say there's still time to choose a different candidate. "I'm going to supp ..read more
