When is Memorial Day 2022?  What businesses will be open or closed that day? What about government offices? Will grocery stores be open on Memorial Day? Memorial Day falls on the final Monday of May, and this year that’s May 30, 2022. Banks are closed in observance of Memorial Day. Lexington Public Library locations are closed on Memorial Day. LFUCG offices and Fayette County Clerk are closed. FedEx does not operate delivery service. When is the 2022 Kentucky Election Primary? Can I vote early? How and Where Can I Vote? The primary election for Kentucky’s in-person voting is Tuesday May 17, 2022. Polls are open 6 am to 6 pm. If you are in line to vote by 6 pm, you will be able to vote. Early voting is available to any registered voter. This will be conducted on Thursday, May 12, Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14, preceding Election Day. The Bluegrass Irish Society has now announced that a winter storm watch that includes bitterly cold temperatures and snow on Friday into Saturday will cancel the 2022 Lexington St. Patrick’s parade. Money for Markey UK HealthCare recently announced a historic $10 million gift from Central Bank to support expanded patient care at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center. The gift, announced at the UK Board of Trustees Health Care Committee meeting, is the largest in UK HealthCare history and launches an initiative to raise $90 million to improve cancer care in Kentucky. More than 150 tourism and destination-marketing organizations in Kentucky are eligible to receive funding to directly support the economic recovery of the tourism industry. Funding will be distributed by the Department of Tourism beginning the week of March 11 and will be based on the respective county’s share of the overall tourism economic impact.
