This Pastel Español recipe is one of my favorites and a staple dish in our family. This recipe came from my mom and was passed down from my nana. I haven’t shared this recipe with many people except my mother-in-law, which she loved, so I figured I would share it with you all. My mom used to make this dish on special occasions like our birthdays. However, this wasn’t a recipe we had too often, like taco night. She used to make this from scratch. She would buy and boil the chicken, dice all the vegetables, and make rice and beans as a side. I changed it a little after learning how to make it ..read more

I got another do-it-yourself project for you—a step-by-step DIY~how to make a no-sew skirt out of jeans. If you have any jeans that fit around the waist but want to repurpose them, this project is perfect for those jeans. You can also buy some thrift store jeans and make a super cute skirt. I tried this DIY after seeing The DIY Designer make it;CLICK HERE to check her out. I used two different pairs of jeans. They both came out great, but my favorite has got to be the washed denim skirt. The material is stretchy but sucks me in when I’m not sitting. It’s also the perfect material. You want t ..read more

I always look for different ways to decorate when the holidays roll around. I love Halloween, and decorating is one of my favorite things. Unfortunately, covering your porch lights with different items can sometimes get tricky. Here’s an easy and fun DIY: pumpkin porch light covers that are super quick to make and will have your house stand out! These covers are fun and a great way to decorate, saving you many pennies. We used the kid’s pails they outgrew last year, so we got our money’s worth out of them. I always like to save items like this until the following year in case I can use them a ..read more

Everywhere you look, you see Tie Dye shirts, hoodies, loungewear, anything you can think of. It’s back! Did it ever really leave? Nope. There’s an excellent tie-dye kit I found at Walmart if you’re feeling adventurous and want to jump on that tie-dye bandwagon. At our house, we love tie-dye! Our kids love anything tie-dye. I’ve seen tie-dyed clothes selling for $50, $200, or more! Now, you can buy it or make it. Either way, it’s a cool trend that I’ve always loved. Tie-Dye Kit I’ve found this cute tie-dye kit with everything you need at Walmart. It comes with gloves, a tablecloth, rubber band ..read more

If you’re planning on taking the AB Young Trail hike, you’ll want to park your car around the Bootlegger picnic area. Try to find a spot where to cross the creek. The water is cold and may take a little bit to cross. There’s a bridge at Junipine Resort that you can cross that will take you straight to the path of the AB Young trail, but you didn’t hear it from me. If you walk down through the resort, you’ll see the bridge. Once you cross it, you’ll find a path that will take you along the creek. It’s about 30 minutes from the start of the AB trail, but the trail is shaded, and It’ll save you ..read more

DIY Lego Table

I love good DIY projects. But what I love more are easy DIY projects especially ones that get our boys involved. When our boys turned 3 and 4, they started getting into legos and becoming little master builders, especially my eldest son. He has become so fond of legos and building. So, of course, I went on Pinterest and started looking for lego ideas. One of the best DIYs I found was putting together a lego table. It makes sense. If your children love to build, they need a place to build on. This makes playtime fun and convenient, and the mess is somewhat contained. We opt for using a smalle ..read more

So often, if you have your shoes in boxes, they get left out and forgotten about unless you have pictures of them on your boxes, which I ..read more

Another week of looks coming to you from hot ass Gilbert, Arizona. These outfits are simple, cute, and functional. These looks are great to use at any age. As long as you feel good in them, that matters. You can create any of these looks with what you have in your closet. Here in Az, all you see people wearing in our neck of the woods are tanks, shorts, and flip-flops because it’s so hot. The thing that I do like about our summers is that the scorching heat is dry. I spent a week in Texas in June, and let me tell you, I was sweating all over. The heat feels like an oven opening up. It’s essent ..read more
