Two U.S. officials confirm to CBS News that an Israeli missile has hit Iran. The strike follows last weekend's retaliatory drone and missile attack against Israel, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had vowed to respond to. Officials were tightlipped about the location or extent of the Israeli strike. When reached by CBS News, the Israeli Defense Forces had no comment on the attack.  The semiofficial Fars and Tasnim news agencies reported the sound of blasts, without giving a cause. State television acknowledged "loud noise" in the area. Isfahan is home to a major airbase for th ..read more

On Thursday, City Attorney David Chiu filed suit in federal court, seeking damages and forcing Oakland to stop using the new name. "Oakland Airport's actions ignore SFO's longstanding protected mark, brand, and identity, violate federal and state intellectual property law, and disregard the legal infringement and consumer confusion its actions create. Washington — The Supreme Court on Monday will weigh arguments in a case involving the homeless and bans on where they may sleep, the most significant one on the issue in decades. The dispute involves whether laws that punish homeless people with civil citations for camping on public property are outside the bounds of the Constitution. Cities have been searching for ways to address homeless encampments that they say threaten public health and safety, as the nation confronts a spike in homelessness driven in part by high housing costs and the end of COVID aid programs.    ..read more

The push to legalize psychedelic-assisted therapy treatments continues, as patients say it helps and the FDA recently said some psychedelic drugs show promise. Nina Olmstead has struggled with anxiety most of her adult life, but she said her first ketamine assisted therapy session proved to be a breakthrough. "It gave me a sense of self understanding and self-forgiveness. That is kind of what I was trying to cultivate through therapy," said Olmstead.   Years of traditional therapy and taking anti-anxiety medication didn't work for the Menlo Park resident.   "I've struggled with ADHD ..read more

SACRAMENTO — A California bill that pushes for harsher penalties against people who buy sex from children moved forward Tuesday, but not without a fight between members of the public safety committee and the bill's author Senator Shannon Grove. However, Democrats on the public safety committee amended the bill to exempt 16- and 17-year-olds from the penalt ..read more
