A Joyous Winter Wedding At Alyeska Resort

In the early days of our correspondance with one another, something Hailey & Clifton expressed to me was that they really wanted a wedding film that put the joy of spending time with their loved ones at the center. They wanted the hear the voices of their friends and family interacting with each other – giving toasts and telling stories. This sentiment resonated deeply with me as it’s something I’m always thinking about when I’m documenting weddings. — — Hailey also told me about a unique source of inspiration for her wedding that held a special place in my heart too! She said, “You know ..read more

This is a story about lots of different kinds of love. It’s about the way Aimeé and Kyle fell in love. It’s also about the way Aimeé loves Adelynn, and the long road they’ve walked together as mother and daughter. I hope this film warms your heart as much as it warmed mine to make it. — — Second Shooting & Drone Work: Jake Elko Planning: La Boum Events Venue: Huffman Manor Florals: Arctic Blooms and Bouquets Cake: Sinfully Sweet Treats DJ: AK Mountain Entertainment  Tent: Independent Rental Wedding Gown: Grace Loves Lace I still have a few spots left for ..read more

What A Good Life Is • The Baca’s Home Movie

Last spring The Baca’s flew me down to their home in Texas to make this Home Movie film. Up until this point, my Home Movie shoots had consisted primarily of shorter shoots with families. But the Baca’s had a vision for a complete day-in-the-life family session, from sun up to sun down. This project was a massive undertaking, but one I would do again in a heartbeat. This is what I truly love. Documentation of ordinary life – immortalizing those sweet morsels of daily rhythms. I hope you enjoy this film. — what elaine baca had to say about their experience: “As a photographer I have always bee ..read more

Rainbow Colored Engagement Photos in Downtown Anchorage

— Urban Engagement Photos I love shooting downtown. You may think it strange when we find ourselves surrounded by the most majestic sort of natural beauty here in Alaska. But I just can’t help the love affair I have with the urban landscape of downtown Anchorage. Most people would drive by and see an old laundromat with chipping paint, but I see a bright green garage door that would frame two people perfectly. Anchorage gets a lot of flack for being boring and beige. But I love finding these little pockets of color I can use to create unique compositions for your portraits. It’s just like…my t ..read more

Anchorage Boudoir Photography

— A Powerful Day at the Studio Everyone comes into their boudoir shoot feeling differently. Some are nervous and some excited. It’s pretty cool though when someone comes in with a sense of power. I can’t speak for MacKenzie as to whether she consciously felt that on the day we shot together. But it was just something about her internal energy. Because of our chat before her shoot, I knew that she was in a season of reclaiming ownership over her body in the wake of all the changes brought on by motherhood. And that’s the thing. She didn’t want to run away from those changes, but rather embrace ..read more

A Full House at this Arctic Valley Wedding

I cannot say enough good about these two. They are the type of human beings who draw you into their orbit with a steady stream of warmth and goodwill. Amy is just about the most impressive person you will ever meet – though I’m dead certain she would never lead with that. A wicked smart scientist with an internship in Antarctica under her belt, she is petite and smiley redhead who loves the world and all the creatures in it (oh yeah, she’s fluent in Mandarin too). Elliot, as Amy’s father put it, has “a heart of gold.” This dude is just so freaking kind and service minded, it’s insane. To say t ..read more

October Wedding at Raven Glacier Lodge

The Magic of Fall While summer remains the most popular time to the tie the knot in Alaska, I have a big ole crush on fall weddings. The air has that invigorating crisp and the leaves are just starting to turn. As the seasons change, night returns in the land of the midnight sun. I think there’s something so magical about the intimacy of a celebration under a dark evening sky. The Venue Alike to most pandemic couples, Sarah and Nic had to pivot many times before settling on their final wedding day plans at Raven Glacier Lodge. Both avid lovers of outdoors, this lodge suited them perfectly. I’v ..read more

Finding themselves in the middle of a covid-ridden world, these two opted for an epic alaskan elopement which included a helicopter ride out to a towering ice wall. Helicopter elopements with Alaska Helicopter Tours are always stunning, but this one in particular was just unbelievable. I have a special place in my heart for these this couple. Their candor and sincerity was so refreshing to encounter. Lina’s perspective on the meaning of love is something that will stay with me for a long time. I hope you’ll enjoy both the scenic and emotional beauty of this story entitled “Black is the Perfect ..read more

Outdoor Boudoir At Bird Point

It’s That Time! It’s that time of year again! The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and it’s time to take off all our clothes and romp through fields of wildflowers! Last year, I shot a handful of outdoor boudoir sessions for the first time and I just fell in love. The beauty of a bodyscape mixed with the majesty of a landscape is such a natural fit. And, photos aside, the experience of outdoor boudoir is something in and of itself. Feeling the wind on your legs and the water on your skin – I think there’s something very nourishing about it. Something elemental. Eva’s Shoot at Bird Poin ..read more

My Sister’s Wedding at Rush Creek Lodge in Yosemite

People often ask me if I prefer to document weddings or just attend as a guest. The thing about documenting is that it allows me the opportunity to be a part of many moments I wouldn’t be privy as a guest. Making photos and films is such intimate and immersive work. Given the choice, I usually pick the documenting. Photo by The Adams Co But I’ve always said there are a few weddings I would prefer to *just attend.*. I knew that when my sister got married, I just wanted to be there to savor the experience and support her in any way I could. Well, that’s what I said I wanted to do…AND THEN I MA ..read more
