Freestyle had the privilege of photographing a one year old birthday celebrated in the traditional Tongan way. The event was held at Chipmunks Playland in Manukau City, with plenty of great music, great food, and lots of dancing. There was an elaborate cake, beautifully decorated. World Homeless Day took place on Tuesday, October 10, and Freestyle Event Photography was invited to record the activities for the day that were held in Freyberg Square and the Ellen Melville Centre in central Auckland. Organisations that support the homeless showcased their services in gazebos clustered around the square. Offerings during the four-hour event included free haircuts from Brown Pride and free showers and laundry facilities from Orange Sky. Freestyle was asked to photograph the Fiji Outsourcing Symposium and Exhibition held at one of our regular event locations: the Cordis Hotel. The event took place over ten hours, and Freestyle provided two photographers to cover the conference. Freestyle were privileged to be able to photograph a breakfast fundraising event for breast cancer the other day. Held in the reception area of the offices of Heaney & Partners legal firm, the area was decorated in pink as the theme colour and many attendees wore pink. We photographed three excellent keynote speakers – one a partner at the law firm itself, Frana Divich, who, as a breast cancer survivor, recounted her experiences and gave advice – get an ultrasound as well as a mammogram. Central real estate agency City Sales and law firm Pidgeon Judd held  a drinks and nibbles evening at the Takapuna Boating Club.  Around 50 people attended the event. Speeches were given by Pidgeon Judd and City Sales. Freestyle Event Photography supplied a custom made backdrop for the evening. The photography included formal shots of people in front of the backdrop, some of the speakers and then informal shots of people as they mixed and mingled. Around 60 people attended Sindi’s 21st Birthday which was held at the Five Knots event centre at the Tamaki Yacht club. One of Sindi’s friends was the MC for the evening and everyone had a lot of fun participating in the games he arranged. School ball photography is always a treat for the team at Freestyle Event Photography. School balls are fun events, and we try to capture that fun in both posed and candid photos. This time we set up a black and gold tinsel curtain backdrop, which students were very keen to pose in front of. Our goal is to create memorable images for the students to look back on. This year, ACG Sunderland held their school ball at the Markovina Vineyard Estate in Kumeu, north-west of Auckland City.
