We have received the exciting news that Rory’s Miles to Mayo has raised an amazing €1 millon for children and young people affected by cancer. During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Rory Best took on the challenge of walking over 180 miles (290km) from Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down to the site of our second Daisy Lodge in Cong Co. Prison staff, with the help of the men in their care in Maghaberry Prison, have been working to redevelop a garden for children and young people living with cancer. The project which is supported by the Cancer Fund for Children will transform the charity’s Therapeutic Centre at Daisy Lodge, which is nestled at the foot of the Mourne Mountains.
