Soooo Much Shower Chaos
Book of Mirrors

Totally not me flooding my bathroom because of a spider in my shower. Okay, it was me. But not because I was scared OF the spider. I was afraid FOR the spider. I had just got into my scalding hot shower--you know, the kind that would melt lesser people--when I notice a large black spider panic climbing the shower curtain. Instead of doing the smart thing and turning off the water (I did just wake up), I put the hosed shower head down so the water wouldn't hit the curtain. Big brain, right? I thought so, too. Fuckin genious! I grabbed a cup (yes, I keep one in my shower) and I scooped the s ..read more

Catastrophizing with The Hanging People

The birthday party went really well.  My ambitious cake idea didn't, but I had a plan b.  No stress.  I love baking, but decorating can stress me out.  Even when the second cake crumbled from being too warm and me being a little bit impatient, I didn't stress about it.  Which is a massive improvement.  Also holding oneself accountable certainly helps, too...and plan b of course.  The cake turned out great, from the edible glitter to the surprise "fire" inside, to using the failed egg half as a nest.  In times past, I'd be self-hating and catastrophizing ..read more

And whatever else yall call May 1st! Annnnnd I haven't done anything for today, other than well wishes and listen to pagan spring music.  I'm still recovering from Saturday.  Although I have got a lot of cleaning done this week, with a lot more still to do before this weekend.  Today, instead of one unified feast, each of us is going to have a favorite food; Burgers, nuggets, and Kroger sushi. My virtual grove did have a ritual last night, but I was so tired I almost fell asleep during...not proud of that, but is what it is.  However I did have an interesting exper ..read more

Yesterday was the psychic fair and it was great.  It was at a beautiful venue called Polen Farms, in Kettering, Ohio, on a beautiful day.  Pleasant winds, warm, tiny bit of rain.  Lots of people, lots of business. Hearth Fox Oracle did pretty well vending, but especially reading.  I had 15 slots and all were filled.  I even had people who were disappointed that they couldn't sign up!  I ran out of business cards! Fuck yes business was amazing yesterday!  I love in-person events.  Trying to have just an online business can be so depressing.  Nah, in ..read more

The Restless Moon

I guess this is one of those restless full moons for me.  Yesterday I laid on the couch and napped and didn't really do anything, except shower, watch Degrassi, and play Fallout 4.  Once everyone went to bed, as usual, I got energy, except I was restless.  Too bored to do anything, though.  Oh, and I had a headache, which I think was a mix of lack of caffeine, sugar, and dehydration, so I was sure to take care of all that.  Oh oh, and allergies, let's not forget those bastards.   Somehow I still ended up staying up until 1:30-2am.  Although I tend to exe ..read more

Yesterday was my 6-year-old's birthday, which we celebrated--he celebrated--with McDonalds and I cut up an ice cream sandwich and put sprinkles on it.  My--probably--last 6-year-old (no more humans coming out of this body, but who knows what the future holds).  Midson's birthday is on Friday.  Then Saturday is the Psychic Faire, and next Saturday, is their Wings of Fire themed birthday party.  Kinda busy around here.  I already have the birthday stuff, minus food, and all I've got to do for the Psychic Fair is put price tags on my new items and pack my psychic ba ..read more

So I finally did the correct math as to how many years I attended college.  My dyscalculia is way worse than my dyslexia, and yet I still don't know where I got that I was in college for 10-11 years.  I dropped out in 2011--so maybe that's where I got the number?  I graduated high school in 2002 and started college in 2003 (I went to CSCC from 03-06 and WSU from 06-11).  Which finally in the last post, I realized that 03-11=11 doesn't make a lick of sense.   I know basic math, although my level isn't above 1st grade.  Although after this, I dunno... lol ..read more

After I published the latest blog, I did a thing last night.  I took down my ordination certificate and minister license.  I had them in pretty frames on my office wall...but I didn't feel good about them, because I paid for the ordination, I didn't earn it.  I've been slowly removing them from my profiles and websites, and this early morn was the final decision.  Decided to use the frames for my artwork that I'm proud of, and a photo from when I founded Hearth Fox Oracle. Again, I am ordained and oathed by/to my deities.  I am a Priestess within my own path, and ..read more

Handmaidens and Vestals

I finished Circle of Frith, which was good.  Other than me disagreeing with the author's belief that altar and home must be clean before calling on Frigg and Her Handmaidens, I enjoyed the other experiences, the information, and the prayers, and may use them in the future.  I already work with Eir, who is also a Valkyrie, and I felt comfort when I read about Lofn, Hiln, and Vor.  Other than Eir, I've met one of Frigg's Handmaidens years ago, who called Frigg Her "Modran".  She was dressed as one would think a Handmaiden would be dressed, not a child.  Not sure wh ..read more

Hearth & Disability

I've been reading Circle of Frith: A Devotional to Frigg and Her Handmaidens by Troth Rev. Maire Durkan.  Frigg is a Hearth and Home entity, and entities within a domain are pretty similar in abilities, temperament, expectations, etc.  As reading about Rev Durkan's experiences with Frigg is very similar to my own experiences with Hestia-Vesta.  Except for one thing. I'm kind of new to Frigg.  I've encountered Her handmaidens before 2020, I think.  Since then, I've encountered Her here and there, stronger in the last couple of years.  Hence Her name carved into my ..read more
