Hello, Members of WBC! I am incredibly humbled and honored to have been called to serve as the eighteenth Senior Pastor of Warrenton Baptist Church. My life was changed by Jesus when I believed the gospel through the faithful teaching of this church. I was baptized at the age of seven in the very baptistry where we still baptize new believers today. I received my first call to ministry on a middle school missions trip through the Warrenton Baptist Youth Group. My roots are deeply planted in this community, and my family and I are so excited to continue serving shoulder-to-shoulder with you as ..read more

“And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that He answered them well, asked Him, ‘Which commandment is the most important of all?’ Jesus answered, ‘The most important is, Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.’ And the scribe said, ‘You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that He is one, and there ..read more

“And the Sadducees came to Him, who say that there is no resurrection. And they asked Him a question, saying, ‘Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife, but leaves no child, the man must take the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. There were seven brothers; the first took a wife, and when he died left no offspring. And the second took her, and died, leaving no offspring. And the third likewise. And the seven left no offspring. Last of all the woman died. In the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife ..read more

“And they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and some of the Herodians, to trap Him in His talk, And they came and said to Him, ‘Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone’s opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?’ But, knowing their hypocrisy, He said to them, ‘Why put me to the test? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.’ And they brought one. And He said to them, ‘Whose likeness and inscription is this?’ They said to Him, ‘Caesar’s.’ Jesus said ..read more

“And He began to speak to them in parables, ‘A man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and leased it to tenants and went into another country. When the season came, he sent a servant to the tenants to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty handed. Again, he sent to them another servant, and they struck him on the head and treated him shamefully. And he sent another, and him they killed. And so with many others; some they beat, and some they killed. He had still one other ..read more

“And they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him, and they said to Him, ‘By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?’ Jesus said to them, ‘I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. Was the baptism of John from heaven or from man? Answer me?’ And they discussed it with one another, saying, ‘If we say from heaven, He will say, Why then would you not believe him? But shall we say from man?’ They were afraid of the p ..read more

“And they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And He would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. And He was teaching them and saying to them, ‘Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you have made it a den of robbers.’ And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy Him, for they feared Him, because all the crowd was astonishe ..read more

“And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!’ And He entered Jerusalem and went into the temple.” – Mark 11:8-11 Roll out the “red carpet” and blow the trumpets! This is the grand entrance! Palm Sunday! He is here! The Messiah has come! We cannot begin to imagine the excitement of those who gathered at the roadside that Sunday afterno ..read more

“Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, why are you doing this? say, the Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’ And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. And some of those standing there said to them, ‘What are you doing, untying the colt?’ And they told ..read more

“One Sabbath He (Jesus) was going through the grain fields, and as they made their way, His disciples began to pluck heads of grain. And the Pharisees were saying to Him, ‘Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?’ And He said to them, ‘Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him; how he entered the house of God, in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?’ And He said to them, ‘The Sabbath ..read more
