At the Mercury Theatre in London’s West End, there are rumours of a curse. People say the actress Lilith has made a pact with Melpomene, the tragic muse of Greek mythology, in exchange for success on the stage. Suspicious of Lilith, the jealous wife of the theatre owner sends dresser Jenny to spy on her.   What Jenny finds is a woman of contradiction. On stage, Lilith seems larger than life but off stage, she seems as tragic as her muse. But when strange events begin happening around the theatre, Jenny fears that when the muse comes calling, she will have to pay the price.   “Why, it ..read more

Goodbye, 2023! What a year! I read 75 books and this is the first time since 2019 that I’ve read less than 100 books. My health was not great last year so I didn’t spend as much time reading so my initial feeling was disappointment. But then I realised it just means I have more books to look forward to in 2024! Highlights of my reading year on the blog: I’ve compiled the wrap-up stats from Goodreads and Storygraph, check it out below: I was glad to see that my reading graph from Storygraph this year was not flatlining like last year. I did venture into more genres besides horror, although the ..read more
