By Teresa Yea 5 Juicy Tidbits about PIXELY EVER AFTER, my enemies-to-lovers gamer romantic comedy (coming 4/6/21!). 1. The N64 controller (pictured here) is briefly mentioned in the book and that middle prong IS super uncomfortable. Bad ergonomics as my main character Olive would say. Probably why GoldenEye is so hard to beat. 2. According to fellow author Sarah Adams’ #therightmanchallenge, there’s a trend of men on the right in rom com covers. See PIXELY’S cover. Check! Do men on the right really draw the eye? 3. I was inspired to write a gamer romance based on two real life stories, whic ..read more

By Teresa Yea Writing romantic comedy isn’t very different from writing fantasy. I still torture my characters, except in a contemporary setting, it’s more of a social torture rather than a physical one. Hurricane Coralee is a companion novella to Pixely Ever After about a man of few words stuck in the ultimate buddy adventure with the queen of chit chat. I am an introvert in real life, but as a writer, I enjoy torturing introverted characters with a variety of awkward social situations. And it’s completely FREE when you sign up for my newsletter Believe me, this newsletter will be the mos ..read more

By Teresa Yea Exciting things are happening in the backend of my new book. And, this being Yours Truly, very disorganized things happening as well. Feast your eyes on the color palette of the book cover of my upcoming geeky gamer rom com. I added the faces because this book is packed full of whimsy and will give you a taste of zany times to come. So let’s talk about goals. My goal as a writer is… rom com world domination. I secretly (now not-so-secretly) set my sights high and aim to achieve Sophie Kinsella (my hero) level craft. In fact, I aim to become millennial Sophie Kinsella X Janet Ev ..read more

By Teresa Yea At long last, I have… a NEW BOOK! It’s a romantic comedy, a whimsical departure (fancy way to call a career pivot) from my former fantasy titles. But fear not! If you’ve enjoyed my writing in the past, I’m still the big cheeseball I ever was, except this time I’m not injuring my characters anymore (not as much anyway, but I do love a good leg injury ). So what does an elixir made from mermaid scales, the infamous knife of the world’s greatest monster hunter, and a cursed ruby have in common? Besides featuring in my former fantasy books, they are Easter eggs in my new roman ..read more

By Teresa Yea Why yes… I do carry fairy lights around as a routine. I don’t know about you, but I have a bad case of the winter blues.  Not that this will help my case: I live in Southern California where the temperatures rarely dip below 50℉, so you can imagine what a wimp I am. I read a tower of books during Jan. & Feb., partially because I want to escape the cold but mostly because I need comfort. The winter makes me raw, vulnerable, battered by the struggles of adulting and the only cure is to experience happily ever afters on repeat.  I read romances. I write romances. I wat ..read more
