I absolutely love a good, wholesome, family movie so I was thrilled when I was asked to preview a brand new movie that is just that.
When We Last Spoke stars Melissa Gilbert and Corbin Bernson. This movie is based in 1967 when two rambunctious sisters are abandoned and raised by doting grandparents and one wacky great-grandmother. Full of humor, heartbreak and triumph, this is the heartwarming story of family, friendship and forgiveness.
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this movie! The storyline is so good and I love Melissa Gilbert and Corbin Bernson. When We Last Spok ..read more

In the same way, let your light
shine before others, so that they
may see your good works and give
glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
We all know the verse. We know we are supposed to let our light shine before others. But let's be completely transparent for a minute. Sometimes it is hard.
When we are dealing with a toddler tantrum, when we are arguing with a disrespectful teen, when you and your spouse haven't been seeing eye to eye, when the bills are piling up and money is short, when that impossible co-worker is grating on your nerves, when the traffic isn't movin ..read more

I haven't done a Powersheets update in a couple of months so I thought it was time! The Powersheets Goal Planner is what I use to help keep me on track with the things I want to accomplish. Having my Powersheets is like having a goal coach or life coach walk beside me, encouraging me and cheering me on.
Before I share my August goals, let's check out July! July was a wonderful month. I made some great progress in some areas and was able to see where I was lacking to try and kick myself into gear.
July goals:
♦ Faith: Growing in my faith and walk with God is always my number one goal. E ..read more

If you have never been to church, you may be wondering what to expect. You’re bound to be excited, but you may also feel a bit apprehensive or even intimidated, after all, it’s a new experience. But, there is no need to be afraid.
First and foremost, it is important to recognize that you will struggle to find a place that is more welcoming than a church. Everyone wants you to be there so don’t be nervous. A lot of people worry about getting things wrong, i.e. standing up at the incorrect time ..read more

We demolish arguments and everypretension that sets itself up againstthe knowledge of God, and we takecaptive every thought to make itobedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:5
For the most part, I consider my self a positive person. I try to look at life through the glass half full lens. But there are certain situations where I find myself being more of a pessimist.
I wanted a latte from the coffee shop, but when pulling into the parking lot I see a long line. Aggravated and thinking it will take forever, I thought forget it and left. Even though I had plenty of time to wait if the line took ..read more

Getting older is an inevitable part of life. For most of us, there will come a time when we need more help when it comes to our health and mobility. If you have an elderly parent or parents, then you may need to be involved with helping to arrange this care.
It can be quite a jarring experience to find yourself being responsible for your own parents. This reversal of roles can bring with it mixed emotions. There are a lot of misconceptions and myths around elder care and even elder abuse in some facilities. However, there are nu ..read more

We've all had "one of those days." A day when nothing seems to go right. A day when we you are so tired you can't think straight. A day when your shoulders carry the stress of the world, or maybe just the stress of your home. A day when anxiety feels like it is through the roof. A day when everything just feels off.
On these days when our hearts are heavy and tensions are high, it can feel easy to let go of the one thing we need the most: time with the Father.
