در دو سال گذشته موزه گلاسکو(اسکاتلند) اولین موزه انگلستان بودکه اشیاء هندی موزه اش را را به هند بازگرداند. موزه نیوکاسل و موزه هورنیمان در جنوب لندن نیزبا برگرداندن بنین برنزغارت شده به نیجریه دنباله روی موزه های آبردین و کمبریج بودند. اما موزه های لندن همچنان تمایلی به این کار نشان نمیدهند

After their defeat from Alexander of Macedonia, Parthians – an Iranian tribe of the Caspian Sea – established another long- lasting Iranian empire from 240 BC to 224 AD. At its height, it stretched from Anatolia to the Indus Valley and from the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf. The lost Stories of Art and Architecture in Iran (The Ardebil Carpet; a 2-part series) The V&A Museum description of Ardebil carpet:
‘ The lamps shown hanging from the centrepiece (medallion) are of different sizes. Some say that this was done to create a perspective effect.’
And here is the mystery:
In a perfectly symmetric piece of art why are the two lanterns different in size?
Could it be the perspective as the Museum suggests? Suggesting ‘If one stands at the bottom of the carpet the two lanterns would appear to be in the same size.’

Arabs conquered Iran (then Persia) in 636 AD when the kings of the Sassanian dynasty were in power for over four centuries. When the Muslims seized the palace of the Sassanian king in their capital in Ctesiphon (تیسفون), or current Baghdad (بغداد ), they discovered an enormous carpet in the throne room.*
The carpet was called “The Springtime of King Khosroes.”44

Which of these artworks do you think might have an identical copy in Hitler’s Berlin office?
Is it an item of furniture? Or one of the paintings on the wall?
It is the carpet on the floor.
It is called The ‘Ardebil’ Carpet.
