The New York Rangers defeated the Montreal Canadiens in a stunning shootout of original six teams, 4-3. It took all 65 minutes, and then some, to declare a winner between these two historic franchises. It started with a seriously bad goal scored by Montreal’s Kaiden Guhle just 35 seconds after the puck drop. Igor Shesterkin, whose last quarter of this season is one of the three things to look forward to before playoff time, was shaky in this one once again.
