Insert lettuce emoji here. For the 2023-24 edition of the NHL Video Game series, Colorado Avalanche star defenseman has been selected as the cover athlete. This is a solid selection in my opinion, as Makar is surely the next best thing on the defensive side of the ice. He is the future of this league, and can likely bring in a brand new fan base to not only Colorado but the NHL as a whole. He is electrifying on the ice, and I cannot wait to be able to use him in the game, which releases on October 13th. As for The New York Rangers, they haven’t had a member grace the cover since 1995, and ther ..read more

Should Rangers Keep Kid Line Together Come Playoff Time?
Rangers Hopeful
by Justin Bonhard

After seeing so much success with the Kid Line during the Stanley Cup Playoffs a year ago, it is hard to think that the New York Rangers would break up the trio, right? The Top-9 Forwards are full of some highly-skilled and proven offensive threats, and there isn’t much wiggle room to change things around. But, as we inch ever so closer to the Playoffs this season, should the Rangers make a slight adjustment to nudge them into a more perfect line-up. To do that, I would think that someone from the top six has to be brought down, to make way for someone from the “Kid-Line” to move up. Who, how ..read more

Why Is It Called Mika March?

Is it just a funny little alliteration? Is it something he or a coach has said in an interview or press conference? Or is it just that he has the best performance of his career in the month of March? Ding Ding Ding. You nailed it. Courtesy of Hockeyrefernce.com, Mika Zibanejad has the best numbers of his career in the month of March. It isn’t even close. As you can see above, with the Rangers and Ottowa Senators, he has appeared in 143 games and scored 57 goals and 60 assists for 117 points. That is 0.81 points per game, which is a solid and respectable number for any NHL forward. Of those 57 ..read more

Kane Nets His First as a Blueshirt, Rangers win 4-3 Over Canadiens

The New York Rangers defeated the Montreal Canadiens in a stunning shootout of original six teams, 4-3. It took all 65 minutes, and then some, to declare a winner between these two historic franchises. It started with a seriously bad goal scored by Montreal’s Kaiden Guhle just 35 seconds after the puck drop. Igor Shesterkin, whose last quarter of this season is one of the three things to look forward to before playoff time, was shaky in this one once again. His best performance came in the overtime and shootout portion of this game, as he completely shut the door on Montreal. IGOR pic.twitt ..read more

The New York Rangers are set to face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at Madison Square Garden. Winners of four straight, the Blueshirts look to make it a sweet five against one of the league’s top teams in Toronto. With over 158 career games for the New York Rangers, 2019 second-overall pick Kaapo Kakko has been growing into an elite NHL player. At 21 years old, he still has a way to go before reaching not only the top of the league but the top of his own team. Even still, the strides he has made over the past three seasons show his commitment to being the difference maker that the Rangers need in the future. From Potential Bust To Top-Line Minutes Since that fateful night of the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery, Kakko and New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes have had their names compared and contrasted constantly ..read more

It is New York Rangers Game Day. After dismantling the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 on Tuesday night, it is time to turn the page toward the Minnesota Wild. We could see the return of Sammy Blais, as he is practicing and on the Rangers team plane for the next two games in Minnesota and Winnipeg on Friday. Vitali Kravtsov, who was injured in the opening night contest, will not be making the trip with the team due to injury. Shesterkin in goal tonight for #NYR. Hunt for Kravtsov. The New York Rangers opened up their 2022-23 season at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning last night. In an offensive explosion, the Rangers were able to dominate the guys who sent them home last year in the Eastern Conference Finals, 3-1. It was all gas and no brake for the Blueshirts, in front of their home crowd. The introductions were spectacular, thanks to the @NYRangers Twitter Page, and the building seemed to be rocking from the start. We have finally made it. The New York Rangers begin their 2022-23 campaign tomorrow night at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This offseason has been long but has also had its rewards as the Rangers made some changes. Jacob Trouba was given the promotion to Captain, and Vinny Trochek has joined the Blueshirts as their likely second-line center. Vitali Kravtsov, with all of the previous drama behind him, will be on the opening night roster. Jimmy Vesey is back-in-blue, after making the most of his PTO in the preseason. With the Nashville Predators taking their first two games of the season ..read more

NYR: Repeat Run After Showing All Their Cards?
Rangers Hopeful

Preseason has gotten underway for the 2022-23 New York Rangers season. With only a handful of days left until we see the Blueshirts in action for some regular season play, we can already make some assumptions about the season. After narrowly making the Stanley Cup final, the Rangers showed a hell-of-a-lot of heart and resilience last season. There was truly no quit in this team. The Rangers played as if they had nothing to lose, and that no matter how far they went, it was better then their previous seasons combined. That is where it gets tricky, as now the cat’s out of the bag. The other 31 t ..read more
