The Internet, TV, movies, and video games often reflect people in the form of a stereotype - an over-generalized belief about a group of people - as a simple way to explain something. Stereotypes can center on culture, gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion. They can reinforce negative perceptions and justify prejudice against particular groups.

"Laughter increases heart and respiratory rates as well as oxygen consumption over a short period. After these initial changes, a person moves into a state of relaxation. While these effects may not be the equivalent to aerobic exercise, as some claim, that is not to say it is entirely without benefit as a physical activity. 10-15 minutes of laughter per day may burn 10-40 extra calories."
I have found that laughter is truly the best medicine for relieving stress. In my search for things or people that make me smile, I have found several comedians that help me to unwind. You can fin ..read more

It's Your Weekend
Sorry, I can't...
It's not a good weekend.
I don't expect you to understand.
God, you're so selfish.
Maybe next weekend.
Maybe I'll get them early.
Maybe I'll keep them until Monday.
I miss you.
I didn’t get any sleep last night.
I'm exhausted.
I barely sleep anymore.
I know you don't care.
I have to work tomorrow.
I promise I'll start helping you.

We live in Florida. My kids, 5 and 7 years old, attend a public school. The mandate for masks was lifted before the August start date. However, parents could choose to send their kid(s) to school with a mask. Do you think masks in school should be a requirement? Comment below ..read more

I haven't written anything in weeks! Ugh... Well, I've written things, but not specifically for this blog. The good news, however, is that I am starting a new business. The name is English for Life Services. Please go to my new site and take a peak. And, if you know of anyone who would benefit from my services, please send them the link to my site. I've promised myself that in 2021 I will take more chances and live less in fear of new opportunities. I am a creature of habit and will choose "safe" over "unsure" most days. So, this year I've been trying to live a bit outside of my comfor ..read more

It’s July of 2021. We have survived over a year of the pandemic. Vaccines are becoming more available. People are deciding whether-or-not they want to get vaccinated. There’s a noticeable divide between those who have been vaccinated, those who are thinking about being vaccinated, but haven’t made the commitment, and those who refuse to be vaccinated. The mandate to wear a mask has been lifted in many areas for those who have been vaccinated. We are slowly returning to work. Some, who have been working remote the last year, have made the decision to work remotely on an indefinite basis. Kids a ..read more

I started this blog roughly two and a half years ago to express myself on topics of single parenting. Then, it morphed into a platform for writing what I was feeling at that moment. I love writing. I love connecting with others through my writing. Recently, I’ve noticed I have between 50-75 visits daily to my site. Thank you to all who take the time to visit me daily! Unfortunately, not one follower, so I don’t have anyway to connect with you. I want to know what you enjoy about the site? What do you want to see more of and less of? Please take a moment and follow me. Also, shoot me a ..read more

I know a man, a kind gentle lad
To ten little toes, he’s lovingly known as dad
His shadow hangs off the edge of his pants
As the two twirl the room and father and daughter dance
To cherish and teach her; he admires as she grows
The blessing that she is; his hope that she knows
He embraces each moment and honors his role
The father she deserves - the forefront of his goal ..read more
