In an extremely saddening incident, no less than 50 worshippers including many children were killed in southwestern Nigeria’s  St. Francis Catholic Church by gunmen on Pentecost Sunday. The mass killing was conducted by the gunmen by firing shots and detonating explosives in the church. It has been reported that a priest was also abducted. A recent report from the Public Religion Research Institute that was released on March 17th showed that people of faith in the United States support LGBTQIA+ protection laws at a higher rate than the national average. Hong Kong’s former Catholic bishop, Cardinal Joseph Zen, 90, has been arrested for his support of a now-dissolved pro-democracy group,  612 Humanitarian Relief Fund.
