Hofstra star Tyler Thomas is set to begin the next phase of his basketball career and play in the NBA Summer League with the Chicago Bulls, a league source told ZAGSBLOG.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard from New Haven, Conn., won the prestigious Haggerty Award back in April and had around 15 NBA workouts, including one with the Knicks, before the NBA Draft.
Thomas was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year after averaging 22.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists this past season with the Pride. He made 125 3-pointers — second in Division 1 ..read more

The NBA announced today that 93 players from colleges and other basketball teams or leagues have notified the league that they wish to be removed from the list of “early entry” players eligible for selection in the NBA Draft 2024 presented by State Farm. Following the NBA’s early entry withdrawal deadline of 5 p.m. ET on June 16, 2024, the NBA will announce the list of any additional players who provide the NBA with timely notice that they wish to be removed from the list of “early entry” players eligible for selection in the NBA Draft 2024.

Kentucky’s Ugonna Onyenso is focused on his upcoming Pro Day, but half a dozen college teams remain in the mix for his services, a source close to the big man told ZAGSBLOG.
His Pro Day is set for Thursday in Chicago and 18 NBA scouts are confirmed, the source said. His focus remains there, although he has not yet signed with an agent.
He entered the transfer portal and six schools are in the mix for the 7-footer from Nigeria — Oklahoma, North Carolina, Louisville, Mississippi State, Alabama and Georgetown — per the source.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that 195 players have filed as early entry candidates for NBA Draft 2024 presented by State Farm.
Players who have applied for early entry have the right to withdraw their names from consideration for the Draft by notifying the NBA of their decision in writing no later than 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 16. Under NCAA rules, in order to retain college basketball eligibility, college players who have entered NBA Draft 2024 must withdraw by Wednesday, May 29.

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — After winning the prestigious Haggerty Award on Thursday night, Hofstra star Tyler Thomas is set to begin the next phase of his career.
And that will involve some 15 NBA workouts in May.

Kentucky freshman guard Reed Sheppard declared for the NBA Draft on Thursday.
The 6-foot-3 Kentucky native averaged 12.5 points 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists in his lone season in college, shooting 54% from the field and 52% from deep.
He is the projected No. 7 pick per ESPN.com and follows fellow freshman guard Rob Dillingham into the Draft.

Kentucky standout Rob Dillingham has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft without retaining his college eligbility, he announced Tuesday.
The freshman guard averaged 15.2 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds on 47.5% shooting this season. He is the No. 4 overall prospect on ESPN’s big board.
“This was a decision I made with my family,” Dillingham told ESPN on Monday. “I felt prepared. Coach [John] Calipari taught me a lot about how to be a better teammate and that it was not all about me.”

NBA G League Ignite forward Ron Holland has undergone successful surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his right thumb and will miss the remainder of Ignite’s season, general manager Anthony McClish announced Tuesady. Holland is expected to make a full recovery.

The NBA announced Wednesday that the 2024 NBA Draft 2024, presented by State Farm, will expand to a two-night format that features the first round on Wednesday, June 26, and the second round on Thursday, June 27.
The first round will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., home of the Brooklyn Nets. The second round will take place at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in New York.
