“He Gets Us” Gets the Pro-Life Movement

Over the past two weeks, a controversy has roiled the pro-life movement online over the portrayal of anti-abortion outreach in the now famous “He Gets Us” ad that aired during the Super Bowl. Many pro-life leaders, like my friends Ryan Bomberger, Seth Drayer, Jonathon Van Maren, and others, have sharply criticized the ad. I think they’re wrong. It was quite a strange moment for me as a pro-life activist and the head of a national anti-abortion organization when that family planning clinic scene flashed by during the big game. Wait! What? What are they saying about me? I’ll admit, I was ready t ..read more

Pritzker Plan Ignores Black Women’s UNWANTED Abortions

Earlier this week, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced plans to dedicate $23 million in support of black maternal health. In response, Pro-Life Action League executive director Eric Scheidler offers the following comments: There is indeed a serious reproductive health crisis among black mothers, and I’m glad to see the governor addressing it. However, missing from his plan is any recognition of the epidemic of unwanted abortions that hits particularly hard in the black community. Nearly a quarter of all women who get abortions describe their abortions as “unwanted” or even “coerced” — and s ..read more

Call on Your Senators to Support Tax Relief for Families

Times are tight. Inflation is out of control and it’s harder than ever for Americans to provide for their families, and those hit hardest by this economic uncertainty are young families.  People just starting out in life and having children are struggling to put food on the table — and they’re also the very people most vulnerable to propaganda from the abortion industry. It’s hard for people to welcome a new life when they’re living paycheck to paycheck and having to decide between doctor bills and rent. And when the culture is offering the “easy” choice of abortion, lives ..read more

Expand the Child Tax Credit

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a bill to expand the Child Tax Credit, and the measure is now before the U.S. Senate. Pro-Life Action League executive director Eric Scheidler offers the following statement in support of the bill: As the father of eight children, I know just how important the child tax credit is — and how much American families have come to rely on this tax relief. As a pro-life activist and leader concerned about the economic pressures that drive women to get abortions they would otherwise not choose, I consider CTC expansion to be an essential pro-life meas ..read more

NOTE: Below is the third chapter of “Racketeer for Life: Fighting for Culture of Death from the Sidewalk to the Supreme Court” by Pro-Life Action League founder Joe Scheidler (1927-2021). This chapter, titled, “Raw Judicial Power,” includes Joe’s account of learning about the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions, handed down on this day in 1973. Until January 31st, you can order a copy of “Racketeer” here for only $9.95. On January 23, 1973, I was home from work with the flu, so I wasn’t paying attention to the news. The following day, I read about Lyndon Johnson’s death an ..read more

20 Feet from Joe Biden

Yesterday morning, my crew and I raced up to Belvidere, Illinois to protest Joe Biden outside a speech he was giving to the United Auto Workers there. The protest was very last minute. The Biden Administration always waits until the “morning of” to reveal his travel plans. If their goal is to scuttle protests like mine, then they totally failed!  Here I am with a few of the volunteers who joined me to protest Biden’s abortion extremism: We wanted Joe Biden and his staff to see the reality of abortion.  He’s spent his career calling himself a champion of the “litt ..read more

“You gotta be able to take a punch”

ll never forget the day that my attorney, pro-life legal champion Tom Brejcha, told me this: “You gotta be able to take a punch.” I had just lost a major court decision, and if it stuck, I’d have been on the hook to pay Planned Parenthood nearly $500,000 in legal fees. We ultimately won that case, and I never paid Planned Parenthood a dime. And in the end, that bad ruling actually helped us win the case on appeal. I’ve been thinking about Tom’s comment today, when the entire pro-life movement is reeling from the beating we took yesterday on Issue 1 in Ohio. One of our most pro-life s ..read more

Recently, the Pro-Life Action League executive director Eric Scheidler acquired disturbing audio of a 911 call from Access Health Center, an abortion clinic in Downers Grove, Illinois. Scheidler was so troubled by the contents of this 911 recording that he drafted an open letter to Sarah Garza Resnick, CEO of Personal PAC, a lobbying group that is responsible for pushing Illinois to have some of the most extreme abortion policies in the United States. You will find the open letter in the press release below, along with details about a protest that the Pro-Life Action League is holding October ..read more

How You Can Be a Part of the “Issue 1” fight in Ohio
Pro-Life Action League Blog
by League Staff

Ohio is currently ground zero in the abortion fight in the U.S. over Issue 1, the ballot initiative on abortion that’s up for a vote in the November 7 election. If adopted, Issue 1 would undo all pro-life laws in Ohio, allowing underage girls to get abortions without their parents’ knowledge, removing informed consent for women who obtain abortions, and more. This Must Be a Nationwide Effort You can be part of the fight against Issue 1 whether you live in Ohio or not. And we need all hands on deck right now. If Issue 1 passes in Ohio, abortion advocates will attempt similar measures in other ..read more
