Ford Maverick recorded 39,061 sales, a rise of 81.9 percent.
The Blue Oval shifted 7,743 F-150 Lightning EVs, up 80.4 percent.
ICE F-150 sales dropped slightly, but it’s still America’s favorite truck.
Pickup truck sales in North America held mostly steady in the first three months of 2023, just over 650,689 trucks finding homes, a drop of 2.7 percent on Jan-March 2023. But there were some clear winners that bucked the same-again trend, and both of the runaway successes wore Ford badges.

The GMC Hummer EV is a behemoth in the truest sense of the word. It tips the scales at over 9,600 lbs (4,355 kg) and has a battery pack that weighs almost 3,000 lbs (1,400 kg), roughly the same as a Honda Civic. In flagship guise, it also has up to 1,000 hp. With all this in mind, it’s hardly a surprise the owner of this example has opted to make it even more outlandish with a set of massive aftermarket wheels.
This short clip was recently shared on YouTube and asserts that the all-electric pickup truck is now rolling on a set of 30-inch wheels. On any other vehicle, wheels of this size woul ..read more

This six-wheeled custom version of a former U.S. Military Hummer is set to terrorize the streets of its next owner. Its supercharged Hellcat HEMI V8 might be the most civilian part of the entire build. Here’s a breakdown of everything included in this wild 6×2 creation that’s about to go over the auction block.
Built by Danton Art Kustoms in conjunction with Frenchy Export LLC, this is technically a 2009 AM General Military Humvee, but very little of the original vehicle is untouched. The body is custom and includes shortened rear doors and a chopped roof.
The front wheels are 20 inches in d ..read more

The Nippon Automotive College (NATS) is known for its extravagant vehicle conversions, and the latest example created for the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon is no exception to that rule. The NATS Jimny J1 is a wild replica of the Hummer H1, with a wide body made of two conjoined Suzuki Jimnys and an air suspension eliminating any sign of ground clearance.
Japan already has its own Hummer H1 alternative – the Toyota Mega Cruiser – but NATS students didn’t take the easy road of modifying an existing vehicle. Instead, they chose to create a fully custom exterior and interior, using the underpinnings of ..read more

Drivers who can’t resist having “one more for the road” might soon find themselves unable to get to the road, and instead, stuck in the parking lot. GM boss Mary Barra has confirmed that the automaker has been developing technology that will prevent drivers who’ve had too much to drink from operating their own cars.
“We’ve been working with regulators on that,” Barra told attendees at an Economic Club event in Washington, D.C., referring to the alcohol detection systems. “We have technology to do that,” she reiterated while talking to the club’s chairman, David Rubenstein, Auto News reports ..read more

When Tesla released the Cybertruck last week, in a bit of showmanship, they demonstrated it outperforming a Porsche 911 in a drag race while towing another 911 behind it. It was certainly an impressive feat, but some people still weren’t convinced by its performance.
Here to put those doubts to rest is Mat Watson of Carwow, who had the opportunity to pit the Cybertruck against the current acceleration champion of electric pickup trucks: the GMC Hummer EV. Looking at the specs, the Tesla boasts 845 hp (857 PS / 630 kW) and 686 lb-ft (930 Nm) of torque in its tri-motor “Cyberbeast” configurati ..read more

Tesla’s Cybertruck has finally been revealed, and that means we have a selection of real technical details to chew over and to compare with the specifications of its electric pickup truck rivals. A base rear-wheel drive Cybertruck is coming in 2025 but for now the lineup is limited to the mid-spec AWD model and the Porsche-eating Cyberbeast.
We’ve picked the Cyberbeast for this comparison, and have pitted against its key rivals in the increasingly busy $100k electric truck segment, those being the top-spec versions of the Chevy Silverado, Ford F-150 Lightning, GMC Hummer and Rivian R1T.

Last week, a Russian social media influencer went viral by strapping a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class to the roof of a Toyota Land Cruiser and driving around in it. Not to be outdone, a different Russian social media star has decided to take things one step further by strapping a Rolls-Royce Ghost to the roof of a Hummer H2.
Unlike the video of the Land Cruiser where we were left to guess how the Mercedes was positioned on its roof, this clip shows the YouTuber used a large crane to hoist the Ghost onto a special wooden roof rack positioned on the Hummer.
Once the Rolls-Royce was nicely centered o ..read more

This is our first clear look at the upcoming collaboration between GMC and EarthCruiser for the Hummer EV. This rendered image gives us a lot more insight into the final product when compared to a teaser from earlier this year. The production version is coming to market early in 2024.
GMC and EarthCruiser announced back in late March that they’d work together to build an up-fitted overlanding upgrade for the Hummer EV. At the time, it only showed us a dark image that barely gave away the general shape of the vehicle. Now we know that the sleek SUV-esque back half of the concept integrates a p ..read more
