Just an ordinary couple living an extraordinary lifestyle! In 2014 we decided to sell everything we owned to embark on a Journey to discover the world. After a five year overland expedition through the Americas driving from Alaska to Argentina, we traded our truck for two backpacks... Let's see where the wind takes us this time!

With winter just around the corner, I know many of you are looking for a warm destination to spend a few months, I have just the place for you, Sri Lanka. The dry season in the southwest region is from December to March so you better start planning.
Since Sri Lanka is a fairly unknown travel destination for many, I thought sharing our itinerary along with the accommodations where we stayed and the attractions we visited would be helpful to other independent travelers. Our itinerary unfolds diverse experiences blending ancient wonders, scenic beauty, wildlife and modern comforts while discoveri ..read more

While in Bali, I was researching things to do in Indonesia and came across something that immediately caught my attention: A visit to a National Park in Borneo to see Orangutans.
Just the mention of the name Borneo sounds adventurous, add Orangutan to the mix and I’m sold!
After many many online searches and reading reviews, I found a tour that looked perfect for us with a company called Orangutan Applause.

We’ve been Nomads for six years now, the first five, we lived in our truck camper driving from Alaska to Argentina. Since we sold our home on wheels in July 2020, we have been learning to adjust to a new way of traveling.
When visiting a new country we certainly like to see the main attractions but it can be exhausting to always be on the move, finding a place where we can spend ..read more

Come along as we celebrate Christmas and New Year on Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera. Marsa Alam, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh
These are the 3 resort towns we visited on the Red Sea but there are many more, each one with its own personality and attractions. Some are more developed, others offer better nightlife, it all depends what you’re looking for but the two things you can count on, are good weather and clear water.

Come along as we cruise Egypt’s famous River Nile on a very special boat called a Dahabiya from Luxor to Aswan just like Cleopatra and Julius Caesar did two thousand years ago!
Here’s a few facts about the Nile River:
The Nile River is the longest river in the world at 4,100 miles long, only a hundred miles longer than the Amazon river in South America.
The Nile is one of the very few rivers in the world that flows from South to North.
Upper Egypt is the Southern region of Egypt that includes the cities of Luxor and Aswan, it is called upper because it’s located upriver ..read more

After three fantastic months in Turkey our next destination was Egypt. It was kind of a last minute decision because of all the COVID restrictions happening in Europe and we certainly didn’t want to go back to the US with all the madness surrounding the upcoming election. Research and recommendations from other travelers all pointed towards Egypt for ease of travel and good weather during the winter months. Besides, who can resist this once in a lifetime opportunity to see the great pyramids with hardly any tourists?

After one month in Istanbul and two weeks of sightseeing around the country, we were eager to find a hideaway on the Mediterranean where we could semi-isolate and chill for a month or so. While searching for the perfect place, I read many blogs and watched countless YouTube videos, one in particular, from Delightful Travellers, caught my eye, Turkey’s best kept secret.
Since we were hearing talks of a second wave of the Coronavirus hitting Europe, we knew we wanted a comfortable apartment where we could spend a lot of time in a small town with easy access to good ..read more

Merhaba! (hello in Turkish)
I know the pandemic is taking a toll on a lot of you especially my Canadian homies who haven’t seen their loved ones in so long on top of a very cold and snowy winter. I hope this blog post entertains you for a few minutes, takes your mind off of your routine and brightens your day.
We’re covering a short period of 8 days packed with sightseeing including two days in the coastal town of Izmir where we picked up a rental car, visits to ancient roman cities, thermal pools and meeting friends in Bodrum.
