A Fun Christmas Porch Decor Makeover
Shabby Chic House
by Mike

In 2020 we sold the original ShabbyChicHouse (a 1965 split-level) and moved into the newly built ShabbyChicHouse. The original ShabbyChicHouse had low roofs with minimal pitch, so it was pretty easy to string Christmas lights all over the place. Our new house has dangerously high roofs, so we weren’t sure how best to decorate in year one. We tried stringing up some of our old Christmas lights on the three pillars in the front of our house, but they just didn’t look/hang right. With that being the case, it gave us the perfect excuse to purchase all-new Christmas porch decor and really light up ..read more

About a year back we were moving into our newly built house and were in desperate need of a security system as well as outdoor cameras to protect two doors on the back of our house. We researched quite a few options and were originally leaning towards a subscription-free hardwired camera(s) that we could connect to an on-site hard drive, but then stumbled across Ring. After a little bit of research, we pulled the trigger with Ring and never looked back. What we absolutely love about Ring Protect Plans is the ease of set-up, the super-low subscription fees and the sheer number of security and s ..read more

DIY Landscaping & Porch Reveal

When we decided to build a house, one of the must-haves topping our wishlist was a big porch for sitting comfortably while watching the kids play in the front yard. I swooned over the many porches in the neighborhood we wanted to build in, with their cute little bistro sets, comfy chairs with cabana striped throw pillows, and big planters with gorgeous flowers overflowing. Having my very own front porch to adorn with countless white pumpkins in the Fall, sitting out there wrapped in a blanket with a glass of wine was definitely something I’d dreamt about! Luckily, many of the options that our ..read more
