Moon Alert
There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions. The moon is in Scorpio.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This is a good day to wrap up business related to inheritances, taxes, debt, insurance matters and shared property. This is because you're in a practical frame of mind. You're sensible and willing to make an extra effort to find solutions that benefit you.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You might be involved in discussions with partners and close friends that are practical, and focused on real responsibilities. If so, do be aware that you might have to go more than halfway when ..read more

Lomelok, a 15-month-old lion cub, relaxes in his outdoor enclosure Tuesday at Lincoln Park Zoo.
Zubaer Khan/Sun-Times
Looking at the four lion cubs romping around their exhibit at Lincoln Park Zoo on Tuesday, it might have appeared to be any regular day.
And that's what their veterinarians hoped for — nothing out of the ordinary. But it was a big day. One of the 15-month-old lion cubs, Lomelok, was reintroduced to the outdoor exhibit as part of his recovery from spinal surgery March 5.
Lomelok was born with an abnormality in his lower spine, affecting his movement and activity in his bac ..read more

JoJo Siwa, Natasha Bedingfield, Bob the Drag Queen and Amber Riley are among the headliners of Chicago Pride Fest 2024, which announced its full lineup Tuesday.
The festival returns to Halsted and Addison from Saturday, June 22, through Sunday, June 23, a week ahead of the city’s annual Pride Parade on Sunday, June 30. This year's parade will be smaller than in previous years, cut down to 125 entries due to “safety and logistics concerns raised by the city.”

DEAR ABBY: A few years ago, my sister and I took our kids on vacation together. She and I get along but have never been close. Sometimes I walk on eggshells around her because I never know what might make her upset.
I thought we were having a good time on that vacation and getting along well, even though I was anxious. We were both taking pictures with our phones, and she handed me hers to forward myself some of the pictures. While I was looking at them, a text message pinged, and I checked it without thinking about it not being my phone.
It turns out my sister had spent the entire vacation ..read more

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Do your best to avoid quarrels about shared property or shared responsibilities. It might be necessary to define boundaries with others so that they know what to expect of you, and you know what to expect of them. Practice patience today.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Today the only full moon opposite your sign all year is taking place, which will create tension between you and close friends and partners. Power struggles with ..read more

Harry Lennix delivers a searing portrayal of August Wilson in “How I Learned What I Learned” at The Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place. The play is Wilson’s most autobiographical outside of his Century Cycle canon.
Courtesy of Congo Square Theatre
At a brisk 90 minutes, “How I Learned What I Learned” is decidedly August Wilson’s shortest play by a solid hour. It’s also his most overtly personal.
Across the 100 years and 10 dramas that encompass Wilson’s Century Cycle (one play for each decade in the 20th century), the playwright mined his own memories in creating deeply memorable ch ..read more

Naomi (Vanessa Hudgens, left) invites newcomer Julia (Lily Rabe) out to the bar in “Downtown Owl.”
Stage 6 Films
Let’s talk about the high school football team in the disjointed and tonally uncertain Americana period piece “Downtown Owl,” an adaptation of the 2008 debut novel by the cool and acclaimed pop culture essayist and author Chuck Klosterman.
By my count, we see a maximum of eight players in a practice sequence, even fewer in a locker room scene. Granted, we’re not talking about “Friday Night Lights” or “Rudy” here — this isn’t a football movie — but even for a low-budget, indie ..read more

Eddie Izzard plays all the roles in a “Hamlet” production at Chicago Shakespeare Theater through May 4.
Carol Rosegg
Theater these days requires so much planning to produce — the contracts, the logistics, the schedules of artists and spaces, the required advanced publicity campaigns — that there’s something rare and special about a notable, minimalist yet crystalline version of “Hamlet” just sneaking up on us.
Chicago Shakespeare’s leaders Edward Hall and Kimberly Motes saw stand-up comedian and actor Eddie Izzard’s one-person version of Shakespeare’s tragedy in New York only a month or ..read more

Moon Alert
Avoid shopping or making important decisions after 6 p.m. Chicago time. The moon is in Libra.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Avoid power plays about money or something to do with your possessions or something that you own. Or perhaps you'll face power plays related to inheritances, or getting your share of something, or issues to do with shared property. Tomorrow's full moon will bring this to a head.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Today you might feel a buildup of energy before tomorrow's full moon, which takes place opposite your sign. (A doozy.) This means you will likely feel an increasin ..read more

DEAR ABBY: I am a happy, decidedly single woman with a large group of friends who are all married. Most of us grew up together, and all of us have been like extended family for the past 25 years.
This year, one of the wives lost three family members within three months. This has been devastating to her, of course, as well as to all of us as we watch her struggle to regain her footing in this new reality. I know firsthand the pain she's living with.
My problem is, she has started accusing me of having an affair with her husband. Nothing could be further from the truth! I'm torn between trying ..read more
