Hello!  Welcome to my annual round up of the woolly and yarny shows across the UK. Every year there is a mixture of old favourites and new events, and 2023 is no exception.  There are some significant events that are no longer taking place, such as the long-standing Woolfest in Cumbria which will be missed by many in the fibre community. At this stage I'll be vending at three events this year, so scroll through to see where you can find Travelknitter yarns in person.  I'm particularly looking forward to East Anglia Yarn Fest, which will be my first ever trip to Norwich! I'll be ..read more

Happy new year everyone! I hope you've got your diary to hand, because we've got a surprisingly full calendar for yarn shows coming up.   Again this year there is a great mixture of online and in-person events, with some events still with details to be confirmed.  There are three new events to add to the yarny calendar: the Cambridge Yarn Festival (online) in February, East Anglia Yarn Festival in Norfolk in March, and Summer Yarn Festival in Bedfordshire at the end of August.  It's incredibly difficult to organise any kind of event during a pandemic, and organisers have be ..read more

Hello, and welcome to 2021! The world of yarn shows has changed enormously since this time last year.  In-person shows have largely been suspended over the past 11 months, and may or may not be running again later this year.  There are however several online virtual yarn shows that have popped up to fill the gap, because there's no keeping us away from yarn!  These are a great way to keep in touch with your favourite yarny people via live streams, virtual marketplaces, and special events. I've created this list with the usual proviso that there will be many changes as th ..read more

Hello!  How are you doing?  I hope you're OK. We're now at the midway point of 2020, and it's been quite the year already. With the cancellation of in-person shows and events for the foreseeable future, my annual list of yarn shows in the UK for 2020 was looking rather sad.  More and more events are being cancelled as organisers and venues realise that restrictions won't be sufficiently lifted for in-person shows to go ahead.  However there are a number of events that are still happening online, in ways that we would never have imagined a few months ago. If yo ..read more

COVID19 UPDATE I will try to keep this list as current as possible in the light of changes due to COVID19.  Many event organisers and vendors are hosting virtual / online events, so please check social media (especially Instagram) for the details.  Please do check out the websites of the vendors who were scheduled for the cancelled events, as many of us (myself included) rely heavily on shows and events for a significant proportion of our income, and consider purchasing online. Hello and welcome to 2020! I hope you've got your diaries and planners out, because here is my annu ..read more

Hello! Welcome to my first-ever post on my new website!  I'm still figuring out what to do with the ten years' worth of posts on my old blogs, but they're safely tucked away for now. Continuing with my annual tradition, I'll start with a round up of the yarn shows that are coming up around the UK in 2019.  There is always a mixture of new shows balancing out the shows that have been discontinued, and this year we're seeing new events being held in previously-neglected parts of the country.  Hosting yarn shows is a risky proposition, so if there's an event near you, please do sup ..read more
