The Family of 5 Switzerland

We had originally planned to visit the Aiguille du Midi a few years ago but it was closed due to strong winds.  Since then it has always been at the back of our minds and in March we took an impromptu trip to Chamonix and decided it was the perfect time. This famous peak is one of the highest in Chamonix, reaching an altitude of 3,842 m. and has been welcoming visitors for more than 60 years.  We kept a close eye on the weather to make sure it would be sunny with clear skies and booked our tickets a few days in advance.  It’s a good idea to book ahead because on the Saturday ..read more

We were really excited about our first trip to Denmark and were determined to fit in as much as possible.   We definitely came home feeling like we had achieved our goal. We landed in the afternoon on Saturday and checked into our airbnb in the Islands Brygge area and had one night there before we set off early the next morning for Legoland.  You can get the train from Copenhagen to Billund which takes about 3 hours.  Check the train and the carriage you are in carefully because we ended up in a carriage which was heading in the wrong direction.  From the train staton, you ..read more

What a wonderful weekend we spent in the cosy luxury of the Armancette Hotel. Located in the hamlet of Saint-Nicolas de Véroce in the French alps and not far from Geneva, the Armancette Hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility. We arrived on Friday evening to a village covered with snow and a warm welcome after which we were shown to our rooms.   We were given a family room which had bunk beds for the children in one room, and a lovely double room for Jean and I connected by a short corridor. I can safely say that this was one of the nicest rooms we have visited since we started the blo ..read more

Greece is a perfect family destination for a wonderful summer holiday. We decided to travel a bit further afield this summer since Elio would be staying with his grandparents and after lots of deliberation we settled on Greece. We booked flights with Swiss to Heraklion where we would stay one night before taking the Seajets boat to Santorini the following morning. We picked a hotel in the city centre for that first evening which enabled us to walk about a bit during the afternoon and find somewhere nice for lunch and dinner. The next morning we took a taxi to the port and were able to get st ..read more
