I LOVE scrappy quilts! And since February is the month for love, I decided to make some scrappy heart blocks.
I have a pretty large stash of red and white scraps leftover from when I made my Farmer’s Wife Quilt and I knew they would be perfect for these blocks. I even decided to go scrappy with the background fabrics and use some low volume prints that all contained a bit of red.
The scrappy nature of the blocks just creates so much interest in an overall quilt. I decided to make four blocks (they finish at 12”) and piece them together into a table topper (while adding a scrappy pieced borde ..read more

I shared my tutorial for this Ombré Chevron quilt last summer and I FINALLY got around to getting it bound this month.
I don’t know why sometimes things will just sit and not get completed, but I guess life gets in the way! I’m so glad to finally have this one done though so we can use it and snuggle under it’s beauty on the couch this winter. It certainly helps to brighten up the gloomy gray days.
I just love the texture on this one. And take a peek at the backing fabric in the below photo…it’s PERFECT!
Thanks for stopping by,

I have always been a big fan of Kate Spain and her beautiful fabrics, so when I saw her latest collection, Tango, it wasn’t surprising that I instantly fell in love! Aren’t the colors and prints so lovely? They really make me think of spring (which is nice after we had a lot of snow dumped on us earlier this week!)
I love that this quilt was made using just one layer cake (10” pre-cut squares) and some background fabric. I also love that the blocks are a large 16” size, so it comes together pretty quickly.
There are two size options with this pattern, the 64” square throw size shown or a 64 ..read more

I immediately fell in love with this Magical Winterland fabric when it came out. The soft shades of blue and green along with the beautiful watercolor scenes are just perfect!! I wasn’t sure what I was going to make with it, but then a friend of mine inspired me to come up with another Christmas tree skirt design (I have different tree skirt pattern available in my shop).
Say hello to the Hexie Tree Skirt!
This pattern uses fat quarters, is beginner friendly and comes together very quickly! You will need a half hexagon template or ruler (I prefer this one by Bev from Flamingo Toes), but there ..read more

I have always been a fan of Riley Blake Designs Swiss Dots fabrics (I mean, who doesn’t love polka dots?!?). This fall they have some new shades of this perfect dot print available in shops. I decided to choose 6 of my favorite shades to make this crib sized Seeing Stars quilt.
The colors I chose for this quilt are Shadow, Boy Blue, Green, Teal, Oxford Blue and Denim (this color was also used on the back and binding) along with the Gray on White for the background.
This quilt will be perfect for any small boy OR girl (because if I’m being honest, I much prefer these shades over pinks and pur ..read more

I have always loved the fabrics designed by American Jane with their primary colors and vintage style prints, so when the latest collection, Always in Season hit the stores, I knew I wanted to grab a fat quarter bundle.
After admiring these fabrics for a bit, I realized that the collection has some really great low volume prints. I decided that I’d like to showcase some of them in alternating blocks to help make the bright primary prints pop even more.
The result is this super sweet quilt called Sparkle. The star blocks are a standard Ohio Star block and I opted to set them on point and pair ..read more

I know this Halloween candy is a bit controversial - people either love it or they hate it. I for one LOVE candy corn!! I also adore this cute quilt block that I designed around those yummy little candies.
Say hello to Candy Cornucopia!
Cornucopia is defined as “an abundant supply good things” and this quilt block has an abundant supply of cuteness if you ask me!
And what’s even more fun about this block is that you can easily alter the entire look, just by rotating the direction of the half square triangles in the corners of the block. Check out an alternate layout option below.

I have been eyeing the beautiful woven fabrics created by Fableism for a while now and when I first saw the Forest Forage collection, I knew I had to get some! Daisies have always been my favorite flower and these woven daisies mixed with the woven honeycomb textured fabrics is a perfect combination.
I selected 16 of the fat quarters from this bundle to create the Duplicity quilt. I love a design that uses up almost the entirety of the fat quarters and doesn’t need any additional fabric to piece the quilt top. It’s kind of a pet peeve when a “fat quarter” pattern only has you using about 1/2 ..read more

I have always been a fan of red, white and blue quilts. But if I can make something small enough to display all summer, even better! This Stars & Stripes table runner fits that bill perfectly. It’s a fun design and will be a great addition to my 4th of July holiday decor.
I had fun digging into my scrap bins for this project. I just love how it turned out using all different reds, whites and blues. I did keep the white of the stars consistent throughout the quilt top, but other than that, they are all a scrappy mix of some of my favorite fabrics.
It’s a little difficult to see, but the q ..read more

While on vacation last summer with my family, I stopped into a local quilt shop and picked up some V & Co. ombré fabrics. I didn’t have a plan for them at the moment, but have wanted to purchase some for a few years now. I decided to buy 1 yard each of my favorite colors and they’ve been sitting in my office since then, just waiting for me to turn them into something fun.
After many ideas and sketches, I finally decided on this design. I love how striking these fabrics look in the wide chevron stripe pattern.
The variations of color within each fabric creates such a wonderful depth to th ..read more
