Found this (below) in the features section of my newspaper.
It's from an article by Ellen Warren, a fashion expert.
Dear Answer Angel Ellen: I’m an over-60-year-old-male. When can I tuck my shirt in again? Chris E.
Dear Chris: Right now. This minute. Effective immediately. Sure, dressing for most occasions continues to trend casual. You absolutely can tuck in almost any shirt, including collared polos and Hawaiian shirts. Exceptions are those with side slits at the hem, which signal don’t tuck, and very bulky shirts that would make you look overstuffed.
Can anybody spot anything in this ar ..read more

As many of you know, I frequently have to climb up into my attic to go through file boxes to find an obscure Case Book Play from 1971-72, so with this year’s Vernal Equinox I finally decided that I would start the Herculean project of downloading 53 years of basketball officiating and 32 years of baseball and softball umpiring to my computer. I have divided the project into three sub-projects:
Sub-Project I: Organizing and editing everything that I have on my current desktop hard drive (since January 2004 to June 2024) which I transferred to my laptop, which I am doing right now.
Sub-Project ..read more

When UCONN coach Hurley stepped on the court and touched his player, the official blew the play dead and suddenly the other team got possession of the ball. Online play-by-play indicated a "team violation".
Can someone quickly cite the NCAAM rule for this type of violation and when the rule was instituted? A quick online search found nothing ..read more

Back when I was in high school, we took three "core" subjects, hunt'in, grunt'in, and cave painting, plus gym.
In gym, the teacher would just toss out some basketballs, volleyballs, or softballs, and we would "go at it".
My kids, in their high school physical education classes did it differently, with classes in "life sports", archery, golf, running, tennis, badminton, table tennis, yoga, etc.
I would have loved this class (below) back in the day.

Team B is in the Bonus. Team A has control of the ball and is called for a Pushing Foul (Team Control Foul). Does Team B shoot Free Throws?
Per NFHS rules, Team B WOULD NOT shoot free throws.
With about 1:10 remaining in the Clemson v Baylor. Clemson completes a Throw-in. A Clemson player has control of the ball at the Free Throw line. A Baylor player knocks the ball out from the hands of the Clemson player. Clemson player fouls the Baylor player while going for the ball. Under NFHS rules, Baylor does not shoot free throws ..read more
