Suspect Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting in Ramona

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit announced that thirty-two-year-old Ramona resident, Elias Ruiz, has been arrested for the murder of the adult male on Monday. The victim was killed shortly after 12:30 a.m. in front of the Circle K on Mian Street in Ramona. Ruiz was arrested was booked into San Diego Central Jail for one count of 187(a) PC – Murder. Almost 200 members of the San Diego Fire Department decline COVID-19 vaccine

Almost 200 members of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department have declined to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Many personnel had cited personal reasons, and some that opted out have recently tested positive for Covid. Officials from the department said that the personnel who have declined the vaccination represent approximately 17% of its workforce. A total of 101 firefighters have tested positive for COVID-19. San Diego County officials are warning the public about reports of a suspected COVID-19 testing scam. County officials said that "legitimate testing sites do not collect social security numbers and are not done from the back of a vehicle."
