Three Ways to Utilise Your Wardrobe to get that #NewLookFeeling

This post contains affiliate links. I haven’t made a secret of my being a huge New Look fan, seriously, they can do no wrong! Of the stores on the high street, sure they do play it pretty safe in terms of trends – erring on the side of caution whist creating stand-out fashions, but they also carry a larger than normal size range and; my favourite thing – stock products in a wide shade range. When you’re a larger and awkwardly shaped gal, finding the perfect trousers can seem like an impossibility, so having the ability to pick up another colour and know it’s going to look good is *chefs kiss ..read more

Monki brings circularity to UK High Streets

With more and more consumers beginning to switch off from complete fast-fashion absorption, Monki is a retailer doing it’s bit to capture these girlies with a bit of an eco-conscious that still want to shop on the high street. Let’s get one thing straight – yeah, fast fashion is terrible for the environment, it’s a huge contributor to global warming and has been at the helm of many human rights violations, but it still has its place in the average shoppers life. The current cost of living crisis has highlighted what we’re spending in our day to day lives and where costs will need to be cut. If ..read more

If you’re anything like me, your Christmas décor varies very little year to year – but it’s always nice to throw something new into the mix. I pulled together a blog post – mainly to find a couple of little bits to freshen up my own home - of products you can order through Etsy to get prepared for the festive season, whilst looking the part. Christmas Drink Savers These reindeer drink savers made from birch plywood are the ..read more

Rapid Reviews: Monday Shampoo and Conditioner

This blog post contains affiliate links. This is a rapid review that actually pained me to write, as I got caught up in a gardenia-scented aesthetic and wanted to love these products so much. I ordered the Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner range from MONDAY via ASOS after seeing a review by one of their beauty buyers (I highly recommend following her for all things beauty) and I’ll admit I was sucked in by their cutesy colouring and sleek design. The 100% recyclable packaging and vegan formula was just an added benefit – but one that helps me feel like I’m doing something positive. With no SLS i ..read more

We’ve all been there, standing at the counter in a Lush store, hands glittering from handling products and completely shrouded in clouds of fragrance, from bath bombs, to shower gels to shampoo bars. Have you ever been asked whether you’d like to purchase a Charity Pot whilst checking out? Probably. But what is the Charity Pot, and does it really benefit charities, or is it just clever marketing? For the last 15 years, Lush has been supporting more than 13,000 grassroots charities across the world with their Charity Pot initiative – raising more than £65 million in the process and £3.4 million ..read more

This article contains affiliate links. Is it just me, or is Christmas completely flying towards us this year? Already we’ve seen hundreds of beauty calendars burst onto the market but this year I’ve seen more hype around them than normal. Brands do seem to be jumping upon the chance to provide a month’s worth of treats for customers , which is great, but it makes it tougher each year to decide what to pick up. I’ve done some digging and found the best of the best. If you’re hoping for a complete surprise, now is the time to avert your eyes – I’m highlighting a couple of brands included, but I ..read more

Does spending more on makeup brushes make a difference?

For the longest time I didn’t really believe that makeup brushes were something worth investing money into. I’d order a pack of 20 brushes via Amazon for less than a fiver and be happy enough with the outcome. Over the years I’d acquired various one-off brushes from Real Techniques and Spectrum, among other brands - and they were all pretty so-so, doing the job to a decent standard. I didn’t even really consider that a change the application of my products could give me noticeably better results. I had seen quite a bit of hype surrounding the Lara Faye brushes and how they’re a total makeup b ..read more

Rapid Reviews: Fresh Soy Cleanser

This blog post contains affiliate links. The first time I came across the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, I wasn’t really drawn to it. I’m quite easily freaked out by products, whether in food or in my skincare. It’s the reason I haven’t ever converted to oat milk in my lattes – the idea of it makes me nauseous. But alas, we’re not talking about coffees. With soy being such a key ingredient in this cleanser, I wasn’t sure what to expect – would it smell odd, or would it have an unusual texture? But actually I found that I loved this product. This has become a firm favourite in my bathroom, it’s a lo ..read more

Three Ways to Wear; the Leopard Quilted Jacket

An opener I find myself writing more and more frequently, ‘it’s ages since I’ve written one of these articles’! But it has been a while, and without a full life update, things have been pretty hectic but I’m beginning to get everything under control. I picked up this super cute quilted jacket from New Look last month, it instantly caught my eye and I knew I’d get plenty of wear out of it; and I really have. It’s such a versatile piece, and I think it looks far more expensive than it is. So what are my three ways to wear? As always, I’ve styled the jacket in three ways to show how you could get ..read more
