The world is changing and we need to change with it. That's right.
But how? Sustainability is a huge topic that potentially involves every field of our life. Adapting to a new way of thinking (and acting) can be disorienting and challenging so I believe information and awareness are key to it. Let's try to gather all of this information in our big bowl and approach this revolutionary..

Picture this: you’re walking into the average kid’s room. There are toys everywhere, piled on the bed, spilling out of boxes… Now think about this question: What did those toys you were imagining look like? What are they made of? Chances are, most of the toys you were imagining were made of plastic.
Unfortunately, a huge number of toys these days are produced from plastic, which has massive environmental impacts. From the time we produce plastic from raw materials to when your kid outgrows the toy and gets rid of it, these have environmental consequences. Many toys’ production processes also ..read more

In 1987, the Brutland Commission defines sustainable development as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own”.
Right now, in 2021, those future generations have become today’s generations. We, are those generations.
But are we ready to become the leaders the world needs?
Gen Z and climate anxiety
Let’s put it this way: young generations have a “special bound” to climate change. Why? First and foremost because they are particularly affected by it. And not only in a tangible and physical way, but in a psychological ..read more

Climate change is a complicated and delicate matter and throwing out a bunch of data won’t make the communication any easier. So how do you communicate climate change effectively? Turns out knowing your audience and framing the topics can be critical in the way people think about it.
Issue 1: Not everyone believes climate change is real
Although 97% of scientists agree that climate change is happening and is manmade, a lot of people do not believe it actually is and reject the need for action. In US alone, almost 40%.
Yale Program on Climate Change Communication believes the issue might have ..read more

You don’t have to be a scientist or a climate activist to know that the earth is in a pretty bad shape. So how come, that despite the awareness and the urgency, we still seem to be so distant from climate action?
It’s not that we don’t care, in fact we (might) also have an honest desire to be and do better, but we struggle to put this into action.
And I’m not only talking about individuals. Change is not coming from the upper levels either, with governments being nowhere near in reaching targets and stick to commitments.
What is holding us back?

A couple days ago I asked you this on my IG profile. Is the switch towards a vegan diet the ultimate thing we can do to fight climate change? The majority, 58%, voted for no. But when I asked if you were trying to eat plant-based, the same majority said yes. What I got out of it was that, although you didn’t necessarily think it was the best way, you still thought it was very important.
So, the question now is: is going vegan the most sustainable option to reduce the environmental impact of our foods?

We call out for greenwashing every other day, but how do we distinguish between poor intentions and imperfect outcome?
As we all know by now, sustainability is one the most complex, articulated and challenging definitions out there. Why? For one thing, because it’s applicability is potentially infinite.
Can you define what sustainability is? I mean in your every day life, despite the well-known definition of meeting today’s need without compromising tomorrow’s.

Climate change is the biggest threat of our century. Possibly of our species. The Paris Agreement was created with the promise to fight such threat. But are we really fighting?
Let’s do a recap. The earth’s temperature has already risen of 1°C since pre-industrial levels. Now, if this doesn’t seem like a big thing to you, try to think about how you feel when your body measures 38 °C instead of 37°C.
That’s how sick the earth is, and the fever is going up. Symptoms among others are catastrophic weather events, loss in biodiversity, fishes with tons of plastic in their stomach and an air so poi ..read more

It’s no news that climate change is bad for our health. It can be responsible for air pollution, food and water contamination, wildfires, floods, temperature extremes and diseases. This all can cause illnesses and deaths.
What I bet you did not know, is that we can be climate-stressed, too.

Food makes me happy.
I don’t play around when it comes to food and there are few things that I value more than a good meal.
I’m the kind of person who likes to try out everything, who loves digging into local food when traveling and who never leaves a bite on the plate.
5 years ago I decided to cut red meat switching to options that would be lighter for the environment and for my health. I am not vegan nor fully vegetarian, but I try to choose a plant-based option whenever I can.
The effects current agriculture is having on the planet are massive and need to be addressed.
But, even if it’s tr ..read more
