With June over, and the dust settled it is time for us to look forward to the upcoming season. Maria and I were lucky enough to enjoy the party first-hand as we went to Napoli on the final day of the season. Just being in the city, partying outside the stadium, and being in the moment was every bit
as incredible as you could imagine.
We have been truly blessed.
But since that amazing day in June, there have been a lot of changes within the club since
our title victory party.
Firstly and most evidently Spalletti will not be our coach next seas ..read more

April...
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,
it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair,
we had everything before us, we had nothing before us,
we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way "

Another month and another number of outstanding performances. For the first time in Napoli's history, we are in the Champions League quarter-finals, after destroying Frankfurt 5-0 over two legs.
We have sadly been drawn against another Italian team (AC Milan) which is maybe not as entertaining as a large foreign club but at least it is a winnable game, as long as Napoli and her fans keep their feet on the ground, which is becoming harder and harder to do. For now let us look back and go through Napoli's march through March, which with a 3-1 win ratio was exce ..read more

Napoli had an amazing February some would even say perfect.
Five games and five wins, scoring 12 times and not conceding once. Four of those games were away from home, and one of those away games was in the Champions League against the current Europa League holders who are famous for their home support.
Truly we have been spoilt last month.

Napoli's January has been a turning point in some respects but in a positive direction. Napoli did lose their first Serie A game of the season and were knocked out of the Coppa Italia. Which is not great. But in the matches after those games, Napoli have shown real determination and are not as fragile mentally as they have been in previous seasons.
The future is becoming brighter and brighter.
Let's recap our January fixtures and look at some key talking points.

There are always bargains out there and De Laurentiis loves a good deal. At the moment there are a number of elite-level players coming to the end of their contracts some of which would really add certain qualities to not only the first-team squad but the club as a whole.
We won't focus on unfeasible signings, no matter how nice they would be! But as always, on signings that are pragmatic and achievable.
N.B. All information is accurate at the time of writing.

Min-jae Kim has been a revelation since joining and he has settled into life here in Italy much quicker than anyone could have expected. But there is always a question mark about who to pair him with. Amir Rrahmani is the obvious choice and he has developed into a good club player but we think Napoli could improve in quality and depth in this area of the pitch.
Napoli needs at least another top central defender.
However, we do need to be realistic as players we are fans of and that are having good seasons such as Konstantinos Mavropanos or F ..read more

Alex Meret

Alex Meret is simply not good enough. At least Meret isn't good enough yet.
He is only 25 which is not old for a goalkeeper, and he has just signed a new contract keeping at the club until 2025 but he is still prone to making mistakes and putting Napoli into difficult situations due to his lack of concertation. He is also very slow to come off his line and Meret doesn't seem to command his penalty area very well. Because of this and maybe other factors we are not sure if the defenders in fron ..read more

21 games, 18 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss.
Beaten only once in the Champions League (away to Liverpool) and unbeaten in Serie A with a goal difference of +25 it’s fair to say that Luciano Spalletti so far has done a good job up to now. The start of the season was incredible. 15 games unbeaten in the league and Napoli are top of the table and 8 points clear of their nearest rivals and current champions A.C. Milan. In the Champions League Napoli have been overwhelming teams in such a style th ..read more
