Can Lopez Shock the World?

I cannot be more excited for this weekend's matchup between Teofimo Lopez and Lomachenko. A classic tale of the young lion coming up to challenge the seasoned vet. The casual fan may not understand this as they have a similar number of pro fights, however their careers could not be more different.... Lomachenko has an amateur record of 396-1 with two Olympic Gold medals....an absurd amateur career led to a pro career where his second fight was for a world title. His only fight that wasn't for a world title was his first pro fight! Which was still for the WBO international title by the way....N ..read more

Charlo Bros the next Klitschko's?

Everything turned gold for the Charlo brothers over the weekend. Jermall had a great step up win over an extremely durable fighter in Derevyanchenko and Jermell became the Unified 154lbs champ with a statement win ending via a Jab to the solar plexis. After what I saw in the ring on Saturday it confirmed in my mind that the Charlo brothers are here to stay. The Klitschko brothers were able to reign over the heavyweight division for many years...is the Charlo's reign over the middleweight and Junior middleweight divisions just beginning? Jermell only has one more belt to grab from Teixeira at 1 ..read more

*****ODDS ARE TAKEN FROM BOVADA****** Jermall Charlo (-175) vs. Sergey Derevyanchenko (+145) THE PICK: Jermall Charlo (-175) Jermall will be too much for Derevyanchenko. I see Jermall getting the stoppage win in the later rounds.......LOCK THIS IN! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jermell Charlo (-450) vs Jeison Rosario (+325) THE PICK: Jeison Rosario (+325) These odds are way too wide to not take Rosario.....I really think this should be a "pick em" fight...could really go either way and i ..read more

Brooklyn Boxing Group
by patrickjhealy8

Let me start off by clarifying this list does not represent top ten off of skill...it is a top ten biggest "stars" or "draws" in the sport. NUMBER 1: Canelo Alvarez - The multi-weight division champ has the look, fans and most importantly the skill that makes him the top draw in Boxing today. Currently in contractual disputes we can only hope he returns soon to fight the many names waiting for him such as Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders and GGG. NUMBER 2: Manny Pacquiao - The legend needs no introduction.....Manny still is beloved by boxing fans and demands attention anytime he steps into the ..read more

In a packed Gleasons gym I met Dennis Hogan as he prepared for his fight at the Barclays center against Jermall Charlo. Dennis and his team had a great energy to them and you could immediately tell he was born and bred to be a fighter. In my interview with him I was able to learn so much more about his start in boxing and his love to compete. Dennis is a workhouse when training for a fight but it seemed that this worked against him in prior camps...now he has adjusted with bringing in a new trainer and moving his fight camps to LA. He was clear with me in the interview that his intentions are ..read more

Shakur put on another masterful performance making target practice out of Caraballo. The finish was a beautiful shot to the liver that made Caraballo writhe in pain on the mat...honestly I am a little disappointed in the quality of opponent for Stevenson...we know how good Shakur is and the fans deserve a little more than they received tonight....Overall it was a card full of some young talent but my complaint is the lack of competitive matchups...i get that these are unique circumstances but i'm sick of making excuses for boxing when the UFC has been putting together great fights under the sa ..read more

Distance, distance, distance... When you are in the ring with your opponent the objective is to win your battle. During the process you MUST go in blow for blow but, you MUST always know when to keep your "distance." In order to not tire yourself out, or give you opponent the valuable opportunity to get too close to you. Distance, distance, distance... Mo Dollaz is releasing a record named "Distance" May 29th. This record is about the feels and visions of what's going on in our today's world. Before this 2020 pandemic/Cova-19 situation we are allf acing in life. I was already socially distanci ..read more
