When you start to draw, you need inspo. That's what makes art meaningful because it was made by an inspired person and this art will inspire yet another person. I got my sketchbook for Christmas last year and I have been drawing in it on and off since then. At first, I drew random things, and then I created my first comic. Sharing my comic titled 'Birthday Blunder' from the series called the Adventures of We2Gals. More artwork coming soon. Till then Dya says bye ..read more

,“You can’t blend in when you are born to stand out.” These words caught my attention and this was exactly what made me pick the book ‘Wonder’ from the shelf in the bookstore. In my collection dominated by mystery reads, I found this book a lot more interesting and helpful. That is why this is a personal favorite of mine. ‘Wonder’ written by R.J. Palacio is the journey of August Pullman, a 10-year-old deformed boy, through middle school. Auggie is different from others. He has a face that continues to be deformed despite the many plastic surgery attempts of doctors to change his face. He is w ..read more

Road trips…… They are something I love the most. And this is about one of our road trips. RRRRRR………… went my stomach. We were on the way to Mysore for a bit of exploring. And as usual, I was feeling hungry as I do often when we are traveling. “Mom I am hungry!!” I whined from the backseat. “Okay Diya. We will find a place to pull over” said, my mom. That’s when I noticed something out the window on the road. It had huge gates, a lovely palace-like feeling, and a water fountain. That’s when my dad noticed it too, “How about Poojari’s Fish Land?” he asked. Okay, came the response from the passe ..read more

A Dash of Positivity Amidst COVID-19 Festivals are the time that we all love. We get to spend time with our loved ones and get into the spirit of things. However, in recent times, many people don’t do this. Instead, they just do the main rituals and that enjoyment lasts for a few minutes or max an hour. After which we spend the day as usual. I have been celebrating Vishu like this for many years. But this time for Vishu, the Kerala New Year, at my house it was completely different. The previous night, my parents arranged the Vishu Kani. It is a spread of many things that indicate prosperity ..read more

Do you have wish lists? I mean who doesn’t? One of the items on my list was meeting an author in person. Just like most of the others on my list, this also seemed far from coming true. Then, one day my mom announced, we are going to the BICFEST this weekend. I imagined a funfair with rides, games and lots of treats. I was in for it. Who won’t? So came the weekend, and we were off to the venue. At the sight of the Bangalore International center building, I was confused. When I was handed over the programme chart, I knew I was totally mistaken. This was not rides and candies. The fest had many ..read more

Like most kids around, I was also preparing for my final exams (well sort of). A sudden trip saw me and my books board the back seat of the car as we headed off to my grandparents' place in Kerala for a couple of days. Unlike my usual visits, everyone reminded me of my exams this time and passed on the boring advice to study. How unKool. I packed my backpack and set the alarm for 4 in the morning. "We have to drive back early morning to Bangalore, sleep well and don't be cranky when I call you tomorrow morning", I heard mom saying this before I drifted off to sleep. My extremely punctual alar ..read more
