Now that we live in San Diego it’s really tempting to go on a little getaway to Rosarito Beach every weekend. We visited back in October when we weren’t in quarantine and the weather was still warm enough be in a beach town. In what was only about an hour on the road, we arrived at Rosarito! I was nervous about keeping the girls entertained because the only times I had visited Rosarito Beach was in college and the experience without kids is a lot different than going to Rosarito Beach WITH kids. I had nothing to worry about because the girls had a blast! Below are five things that we did in Ro ..read more

Making a Dia De Los Muertos Ofrenda with Kids

We have been observing Dia De Los Muertos every year with the kids. There are so many activities, events, displays for the girls to experience both in L.A and in San Diego and I love it. I didn’t grow up knowing about Dia De Los Muertos so it’s a beautiful thing to see this Mexican celebration be part of my kids’ life. Their grandma puts an altar together every year and we made the process into a family activity because Dia De Los Muertos is a family celebration, after-all.   The CASAGRANDES gifted us a kit that included Dia De Los Muertos candles, a sugar skull, picture frames, and acryl ..read more

Glamping with Kids at Ventura Ranch KOA Holiday Review

Hosted stay provided by KOA. All opinions are my own. I recently made a vision board and on it are a few pictures I cut out of magazines that represent more family adventures, road trips, and glamping. I went camping when I was younger and wanted to recreate those memories for my girls but I wanted to be able to have the comfort of a home, like electricity, a bed, a kitchen, and bathroom, while being able to enjoy nature and the outdoors plus organized activities. My vision was to go glamping! Was it glamping? According to the internet: Glamping is a portmanteau of “glamorous” and “camping ..read more

Cleo and Cuquin Family Fun! Math Kits and App Review

This blog post is sponsored by HITN Learning. All expressed opinions are my own.   One of my favorite things about having kids is getting to see them experience so many firsts. Ji gets so excited about doing “big girl” things like homework and I love seeing their faces light up with excitement. It’s almost as if it’s my first time too. During the Summer evenings,  after she swam and ate all the watermelon she could, she would ask if we could do homework. I’m not much of a teacher but I took this as an opportunity to show her how to write her name and to practice her Spanish. It’s ..read more

Five Self-Care Tips for Moms with Anxiety (Part One)

Taking care of my mental health is a priority that I no longer take lightly. It’s something that I’ve been practicing for the last seven months. I hit a low earlier this year when I started experiencing episodes of anxiety and constant panic attacks.  Even though the experience was one of the worst in my life, I’m thankful for it. I’m thankful because I now have the tools that I can use on a daily basis but more importantly, it’s something I can pass down to my daughters. So how did I do it? How did I get to a place where I feel healthy both mentally and physically? My list is long and it ..read more

Adios, L.A Mamacitas: Mamacitas and Mimosas 2019
LA Mamacita

I’m still in awe of Mamacitas and Mimosas 2019. As a host, it’s often difficult to enjoy the events, because no matter how hard you try to organize it to the smallest detail, you are still pulled in different directions. This year it was different. I set an intention to enjoy and experience the event just as any other guest and I came very close to it! Mostly because we had a team of volunteers and sponsors who were behind the scenes making sure that everything ran smoothly. Thank you! If you have been following me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I’m on a path of a spiritual awakening ..read more

Sunday in L.A Spring Denim Look

This post is sponsored by Walmart.com but the content and opinions expressed here are my own. Spring is here! For many people, it means cleaning, a break and a new wardrobe! My look is pretty casual but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to change it up every season. I’m a sucker for bright colors, so I love when spring comes around because I still get to wear my comfty jeans and give my look a pop with a bright top. I had the opportunity to sport my first spring look on Sunday at The Arboretum in Arcadia. My family and I have been visiting the botanical gardens almost weekly this year. It’s ..read more

If you are a mom of young kids, you know that the minute you think it’s safe to relax, your kids will start the mom chant. You know the one that goes like this: mom, mama, mami, ma, mom, mom, mom over and over again. We all love our kids but that’s far from relaxing. I was able to take some me time to relax earlier this month at the latest L.A Mamacitas event. These community events are meant to give Los Angeles mothers and women entrepreneurs an opportunity to learn new business and social media skills, network, shop, and more importantly, the chance to get away for a little “me” time. Yes, you can experience snow in L.A! Sorta! It’s really close by, I promise! This Winter’s bucket list included playing in the snow and this weekend we were able to cross that off our adventure list. If you are like me and don’t enjoy long-car rides, or like my kids who get car sick, but you want to play the snow, then Mt. Baldy is the place to go! It’s only 45 miles east of Los Angeles. Being that is was our first time, we didn’t know what to expect but it was a great surprise to have been able to reach snow just about 8 miles from the bottom of the mountain. I was concerned about lots of ste ..read more
