The club will face Sweden’s Malmö FF on Friday, February 3.  While most Major League Soccer teams are going through their preseason camps in the United States, FC Dallas is one of the few that opted for something different in 2023 by going to Spain. The club held its first full training session today at the Marbella Football Center. Head coach Nico Estevez praised the club’s mentality and focus after having a long flight just a couple of days before. “I think it went well,” said Estevez in a video sent by the FC Dallas PR team. “I thought the players wanted to look sharp. If you’re really good, you could be playing in a lot of games in a calendar year. Concacaf and CONMEBOL announced a “strategic partnership” on Friday, bringing the two confederations closer to one another moving forward. The nuts and bolts of the new deal center around teams from each region playing in each other’s major tournaments. So, six Concacaf teams playing in Copa America (also hosted in the US in 2024) and four CONMEBOL teams playing in the Women’s Gold Cup. But the big part that sticks out for FC Dallas reasons is the new tournament being created by the two confederations for a ‘fin ..read more

After a tough preseason scrimmage with Barcelona SC, it is starting to be clear who needs to step up more this preseason. Like many of you, I could not watch Wednesday night’s preseason scrimmage with FC Dallas and Barcelona SC. Part of it was due to work; the other part was due to braving the chilly 30-degree weather. Still, based on the club’s report and social media sleuthing, we could gather a decent bit on last night’s game. I already had this list in mind last night but held off on running with it. Now I am kind of glad, as some things I read firmed up where I was going with this post ..read more

Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports The news is all true...which really sucks It has been a few days since last Friday’s news came down that our owners, or as I sometimes refer to them, our business daddy, have decided to cut us and pretty much all over MLS sites on SBN loose. As I’m sure most of you have heard by now, Big D Soccer will no longer be supported or monetized by Vox Media starting on March 1, 2023. This was a complete shock to our team, so my apologies that it has taken me this long to put words to paper (or rather the screen) and discuss our next steps. Yeah, it sucks. I won’t lie; th ..read more
