The Titans were long connected to selecting Joe Alt with their top pick, but he is now off the board. Tennessee has still gone O-line at the No. 7 spot, though, drafting Alabama tackle JC Latham. While Alt was considered the top offensive lineman in the draft, Latham had done a lot of work to separate himself as the number-two player his position. Latham operated as the Crimson Tide’s starting right tackle for the past two seasons, and the accomplished blocker proved that he has a future in the NFL. The question is if Latham’s NFL future would see him stick as an offensive tackle in ..read more

Brock Bowers hovers as this draft’s clear-cut top tight end, as a gulf exists between the Georgia-developed prospect and the field this year. Although this draft has a few wide receivers that could go in front of Bowers, he might not last too much longer. The teams interested in Bowers point to him not being available beyond No. 10, Sportskeeda.com’s Tony Pauline notes. After the Jets hosted the standout pass catcher, Pauline adds he scheduled visits with the Bears and Chargers. Prospects have until today to go through official “30” visits with teams; Bowers met with the Bears on Tuesday and i ..read more

Wednesday marks the final day for “30” visits during this year’s cycle. Illinois defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton is on the way back from a January surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his foot. Newton went through a belated pro day in Champaign on Tuesday, per Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, who noted more than eight teams were in attendance. The Lions are not one of the teams Schultz named, but the Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett notes Newton did go through a visit with the defending NFC North champs. Two Georgia Bulldogs expected to be first-round picks later this month were unable to perform in their school’s pro day last month. Tight end Brock Bowers and offensive tackle Amarius Mims both hosted a private workout that saw a few teams in attendance, per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. Neither player really performed usual pro day activities, forgoing the 40-yard dash or any jumping or agility testing. Mims didn’t even weigh in. In reality, the day saw the two go through a few position drills with Bowers running routes and Mims attempting some line drills. Both players had tightrope su ..read more

The Browns and Titans have pulled off a minor swap in advance of this month’s draft. Cleveland has sent offensive tackle Leroy Watson to Tennessee in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round selection (No. 227). Both teams announced the move Friday. Watson entered the league as an undrafted free agent. He joined the Patriots’ practice squad ahead of the 2022 season, but in matter of days he took a spot on the 49ers’ taxi squad. San Francisco signed him to a reserve deal at the end of the campaign, one in which he did not see playing time. Watson was waived during 2023 roster cutdowns, but ..read more

For the first time since 2016, Derrick Henry will be absent from the Titans’ backfield when the 2024 season kicks off. Tennessee was one of the teams which quickly made a notable addition at the running back spot, though, adding Tony Pollard to the fold. The ex-Cowboy took a three-year deal worth $21.75MM ($10.5MM guaranteed) to head to Nashville. Not long before that agreement was worked out – on the first day of the negotiating window – Pollard was reported to be willing to take a discount and remain in Dallas. Instead, the $7.25MM annual average value of his pact has le ..read more

Cutting Andre Dillard and not replacing him to this point, the Titans have a clear left tackle need going into a draft loaded with high-end prospects at the position. The Titans are “definitely” interested in Joe Alt, ESPN.com’s Matt Miller writes, noting the team’s recent visit and Combine meeting with the two-time All-American. But the Chargers should be considered a team to watch for the Notre Dame alum. The Bolts, whose first-round slot (No. 5) is two in front of the Titans’, have a clear wide receiver need but have hired a coach (Jim Harbaugh) who has not emphasized that position. Alt con ..read more
