Additional storm chances exist tonight through Sunday in Houston and areas north of the city, with possible flooding for the near future. Please follow the advice of your local officials, and never drive around barricades. If you see water, turn around. As of Friday, May 3, Houston Food Bank has delivered 31 pallets of disaster boxes (food & other essentials) and 53 pallets of water to our partner distribution organizations, including our affiliate Montgomery County Food Bank. With the start of a new season the weather changes, flowers bloom, and the sun comes out. However, as the seasons change one thing will stay constant – elections. Corporate Volunteers Receive National Honor

On April 23rd, 2024, the Houston Food Bank honored its most outstanding corporate volunteers with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. A grand total of 122 corporations attended the three-day awards — The cumulative hours/meals donated for the corporations that attended the 2023 award ceremonies: 55,265 hours donated in 2023 (facilitating a total of 3,315,900 meals) Awards were given in the following categories: GOLD (500+ hours): 25 corporations with total of 33,410 hours donated (equivalent to 2,004,600 meals) SILVER (250 – 499 hours): 34 corporations with a total of 11,591 hours donat ..read more

  Print Stovetop Potatoes and Onions Course Side Dish Keyword grain, vegetable Ingredients 1 bag of baby potatoes with skin 2 garlic cloves minced 1 large onion chopped salt and pepper to taste 2 Tbsps. olive or canola oil Instructions Chop onions, mince garlic. Set aside. Wash potatoes and boil with them whole until tender. About 10 minutes. Drain. Heat oil in a skillet and cook onions until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
