If you’ve ever wanted to sip Malbec like Eva Perón on her rise to riches, or swallow steak like Lionel Messi ready to score, then LatinoAmérica beckons. Love, passion and intensity are out in force at this Hove restaurant. Glowing in the evening light, LatinoAmérica showcases the indulgent cheeses, meats and fish that embody the spirit of Argentina – a country renowned for its high-quality beef and wine. The team informs us that the secret to their tender steaks is down to the Argentinian uplands, where the climate is ideal and the grass is like nothing we have here in England. The Mesmerist is a weekend staple for any and all, but did you know they also do exceptional Tex-Mex? Exciting, right! A few weeks ago my little family and I were invited to try The Mesmerists banging new Tex-Mex menu and this California girl was thrilled.  Unless you have been living under a rock, you will have heard of The Mesmerist Bar in central Brighton. Known for their epic dance nights, killer live music, and unique roof terrace, it’s one of those cant-be-missed venues for weekend frivolity but it is also a surprising haven for foodie families. Don’t cock your eyebrow at me, this ..read more

Brighton Restaurants | Latest Food News, Interviews, and Reviews

Those of you who know me, may have occasionally been frustrated by my optimistic timekeeping. For my family, I’ll admit that this ‘quirk’ has been the cause of some stress and the adoption of management tactics including misleading me about start times to improve my punctuality.  Perfect timing Unfortunately, this particular strategy is thwarted when I’m in charge of the plan, which I was, when booking an afternoon tea tour aboard the gorgeous Brighton Regency Routemaster. An early springtime treat to mark the end of a slog of a winter, the whole family was excited and raring to go. I’d r ..read more

There’s no brunch like Arcobaleno
Brighton Restaurants | Latest Food News, Interviews, and Reviews

Somewhere over the rainbow, or perhaps just over the Old Steine depending on where you’re visiting from, you’ll find Arcobaleno (the Italian word for rainbow). Tucked in the heart of Kemptown village, this LGBTQ+ café, a gay bar and events space does a little bit of everything. So, if you’ve recently found yourself wondering where you can get brunch, 241 burgers and chess (the classic duo), Sunday Roasts, line dancing, tequila tasting (put 26 March in your diary) and hire a slick space downstairs for a private party, look no further.  Home away from home It seems rather fitting that my p ..read more

English’s of Brighton: A Taste of History, Freshness, and Tradition
Brighton Restaurants | Latest Food News, Interviews, and Reviews

When Facebookers post Old Brighton photos in those ‘window to the past’ groups, English’s is often in shot. Photos of passers-by sporting the fashions of the era are in full view – from post-war women in billowing skirts to men hobbling in Sixties-style heeled boots and Beatles-inspired collarless jackets. The restaurant is a Brighton institution and has survived since the 1890s. It’s been managed by the same family since 1945 but today it exudes a palpable sense of new life while retaining its charm.  Assistant Manager Manu, who looked after us the evening we visited, possesses that welc ..read more

Brighton’s vibrant culinary scene never fails to delight, and on a recent sunny spring morning (one of those rare moments we’ve had in between solid rain) I had the pleasure of experiencing a brunch like no other at the multi-award-winning Starfish & Coffee in Queens Park. Set into one of our city’s many hills, tucked back a little from the bustling front and that day’s blue, blue sea, Starfish & Coffee exudes a cosy warmth and sense of neighbourhood café charm from the moment you step inside. The decor is lovely – deep, complicated blues with pops of colour, worn wooden floor; p ..read more

If you’ve stepped outside your house in the last few years, you might have noticed that Brighton is spoiled for choice when it comes to Indian restaurants.
