Identifying the reason why you want to achieve something allows you to make intentional decisions about where to spend your energy. Doing the hard work of asking yourself ‘why’ you want something so bad lends you the clarity of your goal so that you can see all the different paths it could take to get there.
For instance, if your short-term goal is to move out of you ..read more

How empowering women elevates us all: an interview with Shana Abraham, author of RISE
With all the chaos that has the world holding its breath and a U.S. election that has a whole country waiting anxiously by its mailboxes, there is certainly a lot to talk about. Whether it is the disparate impact of COVID-19 or the senseless killings of Black Americans by police, it is clear that we are far from achieving equity.
People are taking to social media and the streets to engage in activism and demand change on a number of issues. But the question we must not forget to ask is:

Full interview with author of RISE: How Empowering Women Elevates Us All
Author Shana Abraham with her debut novel, RISE
THE WOMXN’S ROOM: For people who don’t know you, who is Shana Abraham?
SHANA: Shana Abraham is not afraid to carve out her own path, or yours. As an undergrad, she pivoted from pre-med to public health. Shana knew she'd need peer support in order to succeed, so when she found no public health student organization on her campus, she founded one. As a public health student, Shana was exhilarated by the potential to reduce the global health disparities of women of color ..read more

Three ways to glow from the inside out this summer
From the Chloe Ting workouts to the healthy recipes we keep trying from Tik Tok, over here at The Womxn’s Room we are making the most of this summer– indoors or not. So here’s the ultimate guide on how you can glow up for the summer:
1. Love yourself.
A real glow up starts from within. Self-confidence and self-love reflect on the outside in the way you carry yourself. Personally, I have been meditating and reacquainting myself with my love for writing. I keep a self-love journal to reflect on my day and express gratitude for all that I ..read more

Black and POC-owned businesses and organizations you can support

In light of the video depicting the murder of George Floyd, there has been a full-force reawakening of the movement as a whole country is forced to reckon with the b ..read more

You know which one I’m talking about.
In all the adventures and projects you embark on, there are generally two schools of thought: move in silence or share the process.
I always liked the idea of moving in silence, of only saying something when there’s an achievement to celebrate or a win to announce. Many people will tell you to lay low so your ‘competition’ doesn’t know your next move. It makes sense and it gives you an almost mischievous high in anticipation of your success.
It took me a lot of abandoned projects to learn that it wasn’t success I was working towards by moving ..read more
