Tottenham Hotspur want to sign a centre-forward, centre-back and central midfielder in the summer as Ange Postecoglou continues his rebuild of the North London side. Spurs have shown encouraging signs during the Australian’s debut campaign in charge, emerging as contenders for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification, despite the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer. UEFA have agreed to an expansion of squads for this summer’s European Championship with competing nations now permitted to take 26 players to the tournament. The governing body had reverted back to 23-man squads, much to the frustration of head coaches, having allowed 26-player parties as an emergency measure for the Covid-impacted tournament of 2021.
