This month marks the one-year anniversary of our lives being thrust into lockdown. For many of us, this was an all-time first. We headed into the unknown with fear and trembling in our hearts. Some of us grew anxious by the minute as number began to soar and we may have even broken down a little as they became names of loved ones. This year has seen all of us change in some way. Whilst it has been a very difficult 365 day journey around the sun, the fact that you are reading this means that you made the trip. We lost some to a better eternity along the way, we lost provisions and even some of ..read more

Today I am honoured to open my blog to the beautiful Pastor Sherry James. I asked Pastor Sherry about her methods and motivation for raising a generation that loves and fears the Lord. Whilst none of us really have the answers, we can draw from the wisdom of those ahead of us in the journey and use what has worked for them. In this post Pastor Sherry drops pearls of wisdom for young moms. Heres what she had to say… I am just a girl who loves Jesus and whose desire is to please and bring Him glory. Jesus is the greatest gift that I have ever received, the epitome of “the gift that keeps on givi ..read more

So here are 5 declarations every Christian parent should make over their children each day.   You are loved When children know that they are loved, they understand that they have a team behind them that supports and values them. Each day some of us wake up and aspire to be great, others wake up and aim to get through each task. Some days we accomplish great tasks, we launch businesses, get our kids potty trained, give great seminars or inspire large crowds. Other times, we just manage to eat cereal for dinner and do a load of laundry. Whether we are accomplishing marvelous feats or managing mundane tasks God is still in control. Our culture has become obsessed with achieving more, showcasing more, doing more and the ordinary doesn’t seem to cut it. The truth is though, the ordinary is just as important as the brillian ..read more

I have neglected this space for a little while and it’s time to share why… My intention with this blog is to motivate, inspire and encourage you. My lifelong prayer has always been “Lord make me like Barnabas, the son of encouragement”. When you read about Barnabas in the book of Acts you will read that people never left his presence feeling discouraged. Something that we have learnt over time is that people carry different anointings. Sometimes you can walk into the presence of someone and feel deflated, downcast and in despair. Those people can put a spirit of heaviness on you. You may also ..read more

Welcome to 2021, a year of being adaptable and approaching new challenges with better mindsets. As the pandemic continues to sweep the world, we’ve made the difficult decision of homeschooling our little girl. It was a hard decision because we loved her preschool so much, but for now we’ve had to do what’s best for our family, so here I am, homeschooling a 1- and 4-year-old. Firstly, my children are little ..read more

As I watched you walk to your classroom, unassisted, not even turning back to check if I was watching, I think back to the beginning of the year. It started off with tears and heartache at every school drop-off, calls to the teacher throughout the day to check up if you managed to settle down and find a friend. My heart broke every morning having to leave you in tears but delighted in your smile at the pick-up line. Today I am painfully and proudly aware of how much you have grown. You no longer need to be carried into your orange classroom; you bravely lead the way. I’ve watched you gain inde ..read more
