TOPEKA, Kan. (WDAF) -- Less than 48 hours after Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt suggested the team would consider all their options, including the possibility of a new domed stadium, the Kansas Legislature is moving to deploy a tool to attract the team and or the Kansas City Royals. The last-minute proposal to revise the STAR bonds that helped build Kansas Speedway and Children's Mercy Park comes as lawmakers near the end of their veto session. It doesn't name a team. The reality is that many lawmakers in Kansas saw the result of the April 2 vote out of Jackson County and felt a few differen ..read more

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Royals manager Matt Quatraro was frustrated that his team was left hanging in limbo. Blue Jays counterpart John Schneider was equally perturbed that his team wasn't being given a chance to finish out a game it was losing. At least Quatraro felt a bit better in the end. After playing five innings, then waiting out a bizarre rain delay that stretched to 3 hours and 38 minutes, the Royals finally were declared a 2-1 winner Thursday — their third straight one-run victory to wrap up their four-game set with Toronto. Salvador Perez provided both of their runs with a two-out ..read more

"We've got to keep doing that. Get on the base paths. Be aggressive. Make things happen. The bats will come around and (we'll) hit some homers, too.” John Schreiber (2-0) picked up ..read more

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Chris Stratton (2-1) minimized the damage when he inherited a bases-loaded jam from Michael Wacha in the fifth. He also took care of the sixth before John Schreiber handled the seventh and James McArthur breezed through the eighth.
