Manchester United return to the Premier League this weekend as they head to Turf Moor to take on Burnley and all eyes will be on Erik ten Hag to see if he selects Garnacho and Sofyan Amrabat or not. United suffered yet another defeat in midweek, this time losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League which means the Red Devils have failed to secure a win in their previous three outings. Things however should change for the better this weekend because Burnley are in really poor form having picked up just one win from their first five league matches this season. Sofyan Amrabat returned from in ..read more

Burnley have returned to the Premier League after a minor hiatus and their first game of the 2023/24 season will be against Manchester City. Vincent Kompany will host his former team and the reigning English champions on Friday night at Turf Moor and if the Clarets can somehow cause an upset then it will set the perfect tone for the rest of the 37 matches to come. Obviously, the primary target for any promoted team will be to avoid an immediate relegation and remain in the top flight for another season but Kompany has refused to set such a mediocre target for his Burnley team. “I can’t say 17t ..read more

Man City ended the 2022/23 season with a historic English treble and on Friday night, they will kick off their Premier League title defence against Burnley. Burnley have returned to the top division after finishing top of the Championship table with 101 points from their 46 matches but the last thing Kompany would have wanted is to face his former team on the very first matchweek. The Clarets will be playing at Turf Moor and it’s highly unlikely they will pick up any points from this match. However, this is their first game back in the EPL so the players will be eager to put up a show for the ..read more

Burnley are in talks to sign midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from Arsenal according to a report in The Evening Standard. The Gunners had paid €17.5 million for the midfielder in 2021 but the former Anderlecht man has failed to impress Mikel Arteta during his two years at the club. So far, he’s played in only 39 games for Arsenal across all competitions and he spent the second half of the previous season out on loan with Crystal Palace. Arteta had sent him to Selhurst Park hoping that he will get some game time and experience but Lokonga managed only nine appearances for the Eagles. Arsenal bro ..read more

Burnley welcome Aston Villa this weekend in the Premier League and the Clarets will be missing some very important players. Burnley have been in a great run of form after Dyche’s exit and they are currently unbeaten in their previous four matches. This run might be halted because the Turf Moor outfit will be without as many as five players. Most of these injured players have no chance of making a return against Villa and only one or maybe two of the injured ones could be available for selection. Here’s what the club’s official website has updated in terms of their injured players: Jay Rodrigue ..read more

West Ham United picked up a massive win over Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday but David Moyes has been quick to warn his players that the triumph shouldn’t get into their heads. The Hammers won the 2nd leg of the tie 3-0, thereby securing a semi-final spot in the tournament and next up, they take on Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday. Moyes has urged his players not to let their guard down this weekend because many of them will still be rejoicing their UEL win. The Premier League has finally decided to allow all the teams to make five substitutions and this landmark change will come into effect from the 2022/23 season. The English top division had introduced this rule back in May 2020 to help the teams manage their players better during the pandemic. Back then, the league was just restarting after an abrupt halt which meant teams had to play three or even four matches in a span of eight to nine days. The five substitutions allowed all the sides to rest their players, thereby avoiding unnecessary injuries. While all the other European leagues had deci ..read more

Man City drawing against Crystal Palace has allowed Liverpool to close the gap at the top of the table and right now, City are just one point above their rivals. Both teams have played the same number of games and next up, Man City take on Burnley in the Premier League and Pep Guardiola’s side will be hoping to avoid any further slip-ups. We don’t expect City to drop points vs 19th placed Burnley but then we didn’t expect a draw against Palace either. Manchester City have not been defeated in 14 of their previous away games in the Premier League and on the other hand, Burnley have lost three a ..read more
