Liverpool losing to Arsenal has opened the doors for Man City and the Gunners to chase them down in the Premier League title race but the Reds will be looking to keep their noses in front by picking up a win against Burnley.
Burnley visit Anfield on Saturday and on paper this one will be a very easy three-pointer for Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp will be without some very important players which will make things really tricky.
The first big blow will be the absence of Ibrahima Konate who is going to serve his one-match ban following the red card he picked up against Arsenal.

Liverpool and Arsenal’s game at the weekend ended in a 1-1 draw and next up, the Reds will take on Burnley in their Boxing Day Premier League tie.
The draw means Liverpool are still one point behind league leaders Arsenal but if they can beat 19th-placed Burnley on Tuesday night then they will go to the top for the time being.
Turf Moor is never a comfortable place to visit and Jurgen Klopp is likely to miss eight first-team players so things could get a bit tricky for the German manager.
Andy Robertson and Thiago are long-term absentees and they will only return towards the end of January. Al ..read more

Manchester United return to the Premier League this weekend as they head to Turf Moor to take on Burnley and all eyes will be on Erik ten Hag to see if he selects Garnacho and Sofyan Amrabat or not.
United suffered yet another defeat in midweek, this time losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League which means the Red Devils have failed to secure a win in their previous three outings.
Things however should change for the better this weekend because Burnley are in really poor form having picked up just one win from their first five league matches this season.

Burnley have returned to the Premier League after a minor hiatus and their first game of the 2023/24 season will be against Manchester City.
Vincent Kompany will host his former team and the reigning English champions on Friday night at Turf Moor and if the Clarets can somehow cause an upset then it will set the perfect tone for the rest of the 37 matches to come.
Obviously, the primary target for any promoted team will be to avoid an immediate relegation and remain in the top flight for another season but Kompany has refused to set such a mediocre target for his Burnley team.

Man City ended the 2022/23 season with a historic English treble and on Friday night, they will kick off their Premier League title defence against Burnley.
Burnley have returned to the top division after finishing top of the Championship table with 101 points from their 46 matches but the last thing Kompany would have wanted is to face his former team on the very first matchweek. The Clarets will be playing at Turf Moor and it’s highly unlikely they will pick up any points from this match. However, this is their first game back in the EPL so the players will be eager to put up a show for the ..read more

Burnley are in talks to sign midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from Arsenal according to a report in The Evening Standard.
The Gunners had paid €17.5 million for the midfielder in 2021 but the former Anderlecht man has failed to impress Mikel Arteta during his two years at the club.
So far, he’s played in only 39 games for Arsenal across all competitions and he spent the second half of the previous season out on loan with Crystal Palace. Arteta had sent him to Selhurst Park hoping that he will get some game time and experience but Lokonga managed only nine appearances for the Eagles.
