Charlestown, Nevis, March 1, 2020 – Police are investigating a murder in Nevis. According to sources, the body of 20-year-old Jevon Brandy of Brown Hill, Nevis, was found in the Nugents area near Hamilton. It is said the body bore marks consistent with a severe beating and a gun shot wound to the neck. Police were called early Sunday morning to Nugent’s Heights in the Hamilton area after an alarm was raised. Investigations are continuing. Basseterre, St Kitts, March 1, 2020 – The 989-passenger cruise ship, Braemar, which visited St Kitts’ Port Zante on February 23, 2020 was prevented from docking in the Dominican Republic on Friday February 28, 2020. Operators of the British cruise ship which was turned away from its destination due to fears of the new coronavirus said Saturday they have chartered planes to ferry passengers home – but don’t yet have permission to dock anywhere. According to The St Maarten Daily Herald, three cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) were confirmed as positive in the Northern Islands by the Institut Pasteur Laboratory of Guadeloupe which is conducting the tests.
